How to Run AEM Local Cloud SDK Instance on HTTPS Port

I am working with a local AEM as a Cloud Service SDK environment and would like to enable HTTPS access for the local author/publish instance.

Currently, the instance is running on the default HTTP port (e.g., http://localhost:4502). I would like to understand the recommended approach for running the local Cloud SDK on HTTPS, similar to production environments.

  • AEM as a Cloud Service SDK (Local)
  • Operating System: Windows/Mac/Linux (update as applicable)
  • SDK Version: 2026.6.26908.20260625T154911Z-260600

Hi ​@suncorp_vidya ,

 

 You can set up SSL in Adobe Experience Manager to make it run over HTTPS using the built-in SSL wizard.

Thanks for providing documentation. I am getting below error while setting up SSL in local instance after following steps mention in above link. Can this be resolved i am downloading cert also from the adobe link mentioned above

if not, for the first error:
Unsupported or unrecognized SSL message generally means the TLS client received a non-TLS response. In this case, it usually means AEM attempted HTTPS validation on the regular HTTP port (4502) rather than the new TLS port (8443).

For the other screenshot, it seems either the password entered is incorrect or mismatched
Reconfirm the password, re-enter or reconfigure if required.

For local SSL setup, you will require a publish instance, dispatcher on docker, caddy, mkcert for SSL certificate generation locally. Rest you can work with any AI tool for actual values to be configured/set into them.
