Hi All,

we have a requirement to add 640 x 640 web image rendition step in the Update Asset Workflow.

our plan is to Update the OOTB Update Asset workflow, create a package and install it on higher environments.

Is the above approach recommended or do we have any unknown risks in this case?

  1.  are there any extra steps we need to take when updating the OOTB workflow?
  2. are there any other approaches to make these kind of updates to the workflow?

You can update the OOTB DAM UPDATE ASSET workflow and add you custom thumbnail size.

Tools > Work Flow > Models > DAM Update Asset > Select > Edit > Process Thumbnails > Thumbnails Tab > Add > 640:640:false > submit > sync

Now go to /conf/global/settings/workflow/models/dam/update_asset/jcr:content/flow/thumbnailprocess/metaData and check CONFIG value.

Why is AEM creating the updated nodes under Conf folder when we make changes to OOTB workflow. now the changes are available in both the places Var and Conf
