Sites on Premise and Assets on cloud

Do we have any case studies where AEM sites running on on-premise with 6.5 and assets on cloud?

Is this recommended approach? If Yes, do we have any Risks/Limitations?

We should have all the authoring capabilities on on-premise instance just integrating the assets from cloud.

yes its possible via connected assets.

Please read the below documents for what supported and what's not supported and how to integrate it.

i am not sure there would any case like that, as Site and assets license mostly shipped together by Adobe

if any I don't think there will be any risk here, asset would be delivered from cloud and would have some limitations like workflow introduced by Asset Compute Service/ part of asset cloud offering .

In terms performance assets on cloud will have better performance

Thank you for details, it seems to be supported but i would think better approach would be using Cloud service Assets as it bring in performance capability - all the assets from the on prem can be ported to cloud instance - thoughts ?
