From AEM damadmin (Classic UI), one can select an asset, click on tools>references and it shows all the references of where the assets is being used.

There still is not 1-1 mapping of functionality between TOuch UI and Classic UI. If you need this functionality - use Classic UI. Classic UI is still fine to use for use cases like this.
