Publish button missing in Content Fragment Editor (AEM as a Cloud Service)

Hello,

I have a question regarding Content Fragment permissions in AEM as a Cloud Service.

A user can publish Content Fragments from the Assets console, but when opening the Content Fragment Editor, the Publish button is not visible.

The user currently has:

  • jcr:all on /content/site

  • jcr:all on /content/dam/site

  • Membership in groups such as Authors, Contributors, and AEM Sites Content Managers (author).

The user can edit and save the fragment without issues.

Is there any additional permission or group required for the Publish button to appear in the Content Fragment Editor (for example jcr:replicate or workflow permissions)?

Thank you for your help.

Hi @olsalas711

The missing Publish button in the new Content Fragment Editor is not a workflow issue; it’s permissions + group membership. To make the Publish/Unpublish actions appear in the Content Fragment Editor in AEM as a Cloud Service, ensure all of the following:

  1. Put the user in a CF‑capable group:
  2. Grant the required privileges on CF models and CFs
  3. Use the new CF Editor

  4. Have the user log out/in after changes

    • Once you:

      • Add the user to DAM Users (or equivalent), and

      • Ensure the above ACLs on /conf/.../cfm/models, /content/dam/..., and /var,

    • the Publish button will appear in the Content Fragment Editor and will work, while the user continues to publish from Assets as before.
