Migrating from AMS AEM Assets to AEM Assets Cloud (SaaS) re:SMART CROP

Hello All,

 

Can anyone confirm that when we migrate from AMS Enterprise hosted servers to Cloud Service hosted servers, will our customized smart crops carry over?  I am in the middle of a labor intensive project and want to be sure my efforts are not futile....  Any tips or suggestions are welcome.

You can use BPA (https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/experience-manager-cloud-service/content/migration-journey/cloud-migration/best-practices-analyzer/overview-best-practices-analyzer.html?lang=en) to see if your custom code is compatible on AEM as a cloud.

    @sos The smart crop information is stored in both AEM and Dynamic Media. Though we cannot see the information in AEM DAM console or CRXDE , its stored in AEM. You can also get the smart crop info from the DM with suffix in the URL "?req=set,json", just in case. Core components also makes call to DM to get the crop information before delivering the image.  It will be a good question for daycare ticket IMO.

      Saravanan,  Can you reanswer with a YES or NO?  I need a definite answer.

      Is that affirming YES it will be migrated with the asset to the Cloud? 

       

       "yes" (you will not need to redo smart crops on migration to the cloud)

      or

       

      "no" (smart crops will be migrated when you migrate to the cloud since you already did this laborious task on all your assets:))
