mfc140u.dll not found

I just purchased Adobe Dream Weaver, after having not had the Creative Cloud for about a year.

When I attempt to activate it by clicking the Dream Weaver I get a message that I can’t activate it because mfc140u.dll was not found. How do I solve this dilemma?

Thank you in advance for your help with this.

You’re running into a Windows dependency issue, not an Adobe-account/activation problem.

mfc140u.dll is part of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable. Dreamweaver depends on this DLL family; if it’s missing or corrupted, Dreamweaver cannot launch or activate properly, and Windows shows exactly the kind of error you’re seeing. Adobe’s own docs confirm that missing Visual C++ runtimes prevent Dreamweaver from launching or working correctly and require installing the appropriate Visual C++ packages first.
