Metadata field export CSV

Hello, 

I have just started working with AEM for a client which has set up and linked their Workspace, Assets and Content Hub  I would like to export the metadata fields for each platform to ensure they appear on each platform correctly and determine which ones are linked and check everything is working correctly. Could someone tell me how to do this?

Hi ​@NMulder  There are two different things to check:

1. Export actual metadata values from AEM Assets

2. Review which metadata fields are configured

 

Compare the CSV headers from the AEM Assets export with the metadata properties defined in your Metadata Schema. Also in Content Hub Configuration, verify that the same metadata properties are mapped for import fields, asset details, Asset cards, filters, search.

Test with a single approved asset: populate the metadata in AEM Assets, approve the asset for Content Hub, and verify that the same values appear correctly in Content Hub.

If your goal is to create an inventory of all configured metadata fields (rather than asset metadata values), there is no single out-of-the-box CSV export. The closest approach is to export asset metadata (CSV) > review the configured Metadata Schemas > review the Content Hub Configuration mappings and compare them against the schema.

    ​@v-lazar Thanks for the detailed response, it was super useful

     I had checked out those links you referenced but my problem is I do not see the option to export in the toolbar. If I navigate to AEM and want to see my folders I have to select Assets which takes my to AEM Assets and this is what I see when I select a folder.

    However part 2 of you reply has solved my issue and I have approached it that way.

    Thanks for the update, I'm glad that the second approach helped solve the issue.

    Regarding the missing Export metadata option, that could be related to the permissions, or the failure of processing jobs.

    Since you were able to resolve the original requirement through the metadata schema / Content Hub configuration approach, that is probably the better route for your use case anyway, especially if the goal was to understand the configured metadata fields rather than export asset metadata values.
