Is versioning possible on AEM Assets stored as xML or DITA?

Hi.
Is it possible to have a versioning on AEM assets stored as xML or DITA?
Means if we have some versions of approved assets and need this assets in specific older versions?
For example to replicate a older document or page?

And is it possible to have a automatic versioning like GIT?
For example to avoid to overwrite approved assets by build a new version automatically if want change such assets?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @rob-huebner XML Documentation solution provides version management for your digital assets. You can easily enable this functionality from a DITA authoring application of choice. Allowing your writers to perform the standard version control functions such as check-in, check-out, and undo check-out.
