Hi,

 

If you're using AEM on-premise, you can disable the launcher that triggers the DAM Update Asset workflow, which is responsible for creating asset renditions.

The DAM Update Asset workflow which processes the image contain multiple steps like metadata extraction, dynamic media related process, ffmpeg processing for videos, and so on. The default renditions which are generated are needed to display the thumbnail images in assets console like card view, column view and so on. So you need to decide whether it is ok to disable generating renditions.

If you still want to disable rendition generation, you might have to modify the thumbnail process step. However it is recommended to copy the OOTB DAM Update Asset workflow model and disable the original workflow model from launcher.
