Brand Portal Uploading

When uploading assets to Brand Portal, is the uploader able to add metaproperties to the files?  Do they have access to a metadata schema to provide details of the uploaded assets?

If  the metadata is added to actual asset binary e.g. XMP outside of AEM, it will get extracted in AEM Author when uploaded to BP using asset sourcing func. But there is No UI in BP to do edit metadata directly in BP , BP doesn't have any asset processing capabilities. To be able to view custom metadata from AEM IN BRANDPORTAL - > publish the metadata schema as well from AEM.
