Asset Expiration | option to turn it off?

Hi everyone,

Is it the standard setting that newly uploaded assets have an expiration time of only one year?

I want to be honest: Manually setting the expiration date for assets that were already uploaded for for a longer time period is quite time consuming.

Is there an option to automatically set the asset duration to a longer time period or even to infinite? Or no expiration at all?

As I am a working student at my company it falls into my hands to deal with the expiration dates and I would like use my limited time to do something more productive.

Thanks

There's a way to update all the expiration dates to a future value by using bulk metadata export-import feature of AEM.

You can simply export the expiration column for all assets from a root folder (value prism:expirationDate{{Date}} ), edit the excel file, import to update the changes.

Process described here: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/experience-manager-64/assets/administer/metadata-import-export.html?lang=en#import-metadata
