Well, since I can't help with the plugin itself... let's see if I can help with a proxy report that you can use to get the data.
First off, I think the fact that your pageName not providing variations for the passed Id might be having a big affect, this probably also impacts the use of the plugin to...
To make sure I understand correctly, your page is something like domain.com/page?id=34 (the page id changes the content of the page, so 1 is different from 2, is different from 3, etc). And for the example, I am going to call the page name value "item" just to keep things slimple.
And are you trying to see where people entered this page? or what they clicked on while they were there?
Since I don't know your tracking, or your setup, I will try and keep this general...
To see clicks on that page, this is tricky if ALL pages are called "item", since there is no additional way to distinguish this (unless all your clicks also have s.tl calls on them, then the Activity Map tracking will be part of the onclick call, instead of the next page). I assume that you don't have that, because activity map reduces your server calls...
Sadly, this means that all Activity Map Page values will be "item". But you can try to distinguish this through Activity Map Link or Activity Map Region but I assume that you likely don't have your regions well designated to be identifiable and readable.
If you are trying to see what people clicked on to come to your page, this you can actually blend the URL with Activity Map data (unless you are using s.tl calls....). Assuming you are using straight Activity Map, since the "click" info is passed on the page you landed on (rather than the page where the click was made), you can correlate any data collected on the "landing page" with Activity Map data to see what is driving people to that page..
You can use your URL (assuming you are tracking this in an eVar) and create a breakdown by any of your Activity Map Data.
I assume you are using default Activity Map, but you can add a lot more control to it to make it work better for you... while this isn't going to help you today, here is a great blog post to get you started
