CUSTOM FORMS- Hosting Image option

Description—It would be ideal if we could Upload and Host an Image to be used in our Custom Forms. Currently, we only have the option to add images by adding the URL of an image hosted somewhere else. The images/documents inside Workfront do not work, as they expire after a few minutes.

Why is this feature important to you - This would make the feature easier to use, and located all in one place (Workfront)

How would you like the feature to work? If I choose to add an Image in the Custom Form, it would be helpful if I had the option to Upload a File to be used. That file will stay in Workfront and be connected to that Custom Form. Any User with access to the Custom form would also have access to the file.

Current Behaviour—Currently, there is no option to upload an Image. We can only enter a URL. Images and documents hosted in Workfront can be added as part of the URL, but because those URLs expire after a few minutes, they generate an Error or broken link and a bad experience.

Hello, we attached the image/PDF to a portfolio in Workfront and use that URL.  Getting the right URL for the file is a little tricky - you have to load the image/PDF then go to document details then right click on the download button and copy link address.  You can't use the amazon link as it will expire.

I checked a couple of mine and they use the preview format link like you have above.  Maybe log a ticket on it and see if support can assist. Mine are .jpeg and .pdf format also.

OK, so the way I got it to work is I made a document view with a custom thumbnail preview. This way you can go to the list view in the documents tab, copy the link and use it in your form/report without it disappearing.

TEXTMODE for LARGE THUMBNAIL in DOCUMENT View

displayname=
linkedname=direct
namekey=documentlargethumbnail
tile.name=component.documentlargethumbnail
valueformat=HTML
viewalias=documentlargethumbnail

https://MY_INSTANCE.my.workfront.com/internal/document/thumbnail?build=&size=DOCUMENT_SHARE&document...

You'll note the link above says thumbnail? where yours says preview? or download? ... this is the key!

Give it a whirl and let me know how you get on

 @Stacey_Robertson  @Matt_McC  I tried both ways, but it still did not work. I continue to get the "Please enter a valid link".  The only way to work is when we use the Box.com, but that is not our preferred method and it shows a Log-in button at the top.

I completely support this request.  Having to manage images in a separate hosting environment is another thing to manage and keep track of.  Ideally, you upload the image to the custom form and the system automatically hosts it within the system.
