What mechanisms are in place for cleaning up profiles or removing unused profile attributes?
Any guidance would be helpful?
Thank You,
Uma

I have used two features that have come in useful for keeping our profile counts in check as per the contract and also removing events which aren't useful any more.
1. Pseudonymous Profiles can be removed after a certain point in time using expirations for them. You can choose the anonymous ids you want to consider for a profile to be removed post the expiration period. This helps keep your setup clean. There is no set expiration period as it differs per business.
More details here: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/experience-platform/profile/pseudonymous-profiles.html?lang=....
2. Setting expiry to experience events. Not every event that we ingest into AEP is needed for the same period of time for the use cases to be achieved. To cater to this, you can set expiry to experience events as per your business needs.

Hope the above helps.

Yes this helps.
Is there an API or any method to identify used profile attributes and unused profile attributes from the list?
Thank You,
Uma
@Umamaheswari_Yakkala When you mention used or unused, do you mean being used in an audience ? How do you define usage ?
I don't think there is a specific endpoint to give you information around unused profile attributes.
Closest you might be able to get to might be the observability insights API endpoints.

Might not be exactly what you are looking for for the unused profile attributes.
Instead of unused profiles I would consider looking at unstitched profiles. These are profiles who only have one entity associated with them.
You can use this to view profiles which only contain a singly entity over specific timeframes (7days, 14 days, 30 days, 60 days). Once you have this understanding you can then evaluate on how to purge these profiles from your system and or contact these profiles.
@Umamaheswari_Yakkala Did you find the suggested solutions helpful? It would be great if you can mark the answer as correct for posterity. If you have found out solution yourself, share it with wider audience in the community.
