Regarding Dispatcher flush agent

Avatar

Level 3

Hi All,

Need small information about dispatcher flush agent,

What is the best way to create a dispatcher flush agent at author or publish? Why?

Do you need to check the check box for "On Modification" ( agents for triggers tab) while creating dispatcher flush agent?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks,

Venkatesham G.

Hi Venkatesham,

This will result in single point failure. If your apache server goes down(though chances are less), the entire site goes down and hence not recommended. you need atleast one more apache server  when you have more than one publish server. The typical recommendation is 1:1

So recommended 1 Publish - 1 Dispacther!!

See this article for your more reference: https://cqdump.wordpress.com/2015/01/12/connecting-dispatchers-and-publishers/

The following thread discusses the same: http://help-forums.adobe.com/content/adobeforums/en/experience-manager-forum/adobe-experience-manage...

Also see this for understanding what is Load balancing: http://www.icidigital.com/blog/load-balancing-caching-delivers-content-customers-faster/ and for Dispatcher FAQ: https://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/using/dispatcher-faq.html

Also don't forget to watch Ask the Community Experts session for more knowledge on Diapatcher and its configuration: https://communities.adobeconnect.com/p8h87dumxgv/?launcher=false&fcsContent=true&pbMode=normal

Hope this helps!!

Hi Venkatesham,

It is recommended to configure dispatcher flush agent on publish instance.

Yes, You need to check the check box for "On Modification" (agents for triggers tab) while creating dispatcher flush agent.

See this docs for more information: http://www.cqtutorial.com/courses/cq-admin/cq-admin-lessons/cq-dispatcher/cq-dispatcher-flush-agent-...
