By mistake a dam folder was deleted on AEM author 6.5 ,is there any way we could recover back the folder and its content

Unfortunately, there is no recycle bin feature, from where you can restore the deleted folder. JCR Repository has a tendency to grow exponentially, if not checked.
Alternatively, AEM comes with abundant features that keeps a check that Content is not lost, if Customer is following all the governance options available:
1. Versioning
2. Back Up (Cold Stand By Or simple Content Package Zip)
3. User Administration where users can be restricted to delete pages/assets
4. Archive Folders
So, if you have a back up of your AEM Content, you can restore it.
