How to extend editable templates which is based on Base Page template ?

I have created one base page template as template-types and created one editable template named article page using base page template-types. Now my requirement is to create a new editable template which is based on article page editable template.

is this possible in AEM ?

I tried using Sling:resourceSuperType which is not working.

can anyone know how to extend editable template ?

You cannot extend editbale templates. Look at We Retail - it contains many editable Templates for different page types. That reflects best practice when working with editable templates. You can create an many as needed - but you cannot extend them.
