Hi All

Could you please explain what the built-in experimentation framework in Edge Delivery Services entails? Additionally, could you suggest any relevant documentation or resources where I can know more about it?

Thanks

Hi,

The EDS experimentation module at a high level is AB testing with some limitations, you can set quickly different page variations to understand and gain insight into which experience performs better. You can learn more here: https://business.adobe.com/products/experience-manager/sites/testing-optimization.html#experimentati...

Hope this helps

Hi @KannanCh2 ,

The built-in experimentation framework in Edge Delivery Services (EDS) allows you to conduct A/B testing, multivariate testing, and other types of experiments directly at the edge of the content delivery network (CDN). This means that you can test different variations of your web content, such as different layouts, images, text, or configurations, and measure their impact on user behavior in real-time without impacting your origin infrastructure.

Here are some key aspects of the experimentation framework in EDS:

  1. Experiment Setup: You can define experiments by specifying the variations you want to test and the percentage of traffic each variation should receive. You can create experiments based on specific criteria, such as URL patterns, user segments, or geographic regions.

  2. Traffic Splitting: EDS can dynamically route incoming requests to different experiment variations based on the defined traffic splitting rules. This allows you to distribute traffic evenly across variations and ensure statistically valid results.

  3. Real-time Reporting: The experimentation framework provides real-time reporting and analytics to track the performance of each experiment variation. You can monitor key metrics such as conversion rates, engagement metrics, and other relevant KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of each variation.

  4. Statistical Analysis: EDS includes built-in statistical analysis tools to determine the statistical significance of experiment results. This helps you make data-driven decisions and identify winning variations with confidence.

  5. Integration with CDNs: The experimentation framework is seamlessly integrated with the edge delivery network, allowing you to deploy and manage experiments directly from the CDN's control panel or API. This simplifies the experiment management process and eliminates the need for complex infrastructure changes.

To learn more about the built-in experimentation framework in Edge Delivery Services, you can refer to the documentation and resources provided by your CDN provider. Additionally, you may find relevant information in the CDN's developer documentation, knowledge base articles, or online forums.

If you're using a specific CDN or edge delivery platform, I recommend checking their official documentation or contacting their support team for detailed information on how to set up and use the experimentation framework effectively.
