During content Migration , First step to analyze what all data we are going to migrate. Are you migrating from CQ 5.x to AEM 6.x or from other CMS to AEM ?

You can use CRX2Oak tool designed to migrate data between different repositories.

Link:- https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-1/deploy/upgrade/using-crx2oak.html

If your site allows comments, then as reverse replication is not available in 6.1 you have to migrate content to UGC. For it you can use AEM Communities UGC Migration Tool.

Can you provide more details? Content migration from another WCM to AEM, migrating from one version of AEM to another? Which version of AEM are you migrating to?

Hi,

Can you clear me that, you need migration tool for migrating other CMS to AEM?

If not then, if you need only to migrate between AEM versions, please look at this official AEM documentation: https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-2/deploy/upgrade/using-crx2oak.html

Thanks,
Ratna Kumar.

Hi Ratna Kumar,

What about the overlaid features when we are migrating from one version to another. For example in AEM 6.0, the customized schema will be stored in "/apps/dam/content/schemaeditors" but in AEM 6.2 it will be stored in "/conf/global/settings/dam/adminui-extension/metadataschema".

So while migrating using the above reference you mentioned will it automatically takes care of the customization as per new version (ex: here it is AEM 6.2) or do we need re-do the customization based on new version. please confirm.

Thanks,

Selva
