Average page depth in report

According to https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/analytics/components/metrics/average-page-depth.html?lang=en... there are two ways to calculate the average page depth. What I would like to know is which one is the default setting in Adobe Analytics? If I would like to change to another way, how can I do?
