adobe advertising analytics and google ads "Smart Shopping" no data

Avatar

Hi,

I have advertising analytics in place for several google ads accounts.

For standard campaigns metrics like impression, cost, cpc etc. I receive without an issue.

Only for "Smart Shopping" campaigns I don't get data or some "unspecified" might popup .

Are google ads  "Smart Shopping" campaigns not supported or is a special setup needed?

kind regards,

Hans

Thanks for the additional information that doc was very helpful. Essentially what is being said there is that Adobe Analytics doesn't have an out of the box classification/processing rule for those values, but using the information in the table you've share a screenshot of you have the tools to be able to create your own processing rules for identifying a marketing channel.

See the section "Examples of Processing Rules That Use the AMO ID" https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/advertising-cloud/integrations/analytics/mc/mc-ids.html?lang...

Hi,

I admit I'm not a first hand expert with ad analytics, but I think you are on the right track that 'smart shopping' campaigns would not be supported. Only 'Search' data is supported. Would 'smart shopping' be considered Search? this is a nuance that would be defined by Google I believe.

https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/analytics/integration/advertising-analytics/overview.html
"Advertising Analytics lets you see all your Google and Bing Paid Search data side by side, within Adobe Analytics. Previously, any Google AdWords/DFA or Microsoft Bing Ads data would have to be viewed in Adobe Advertising Cloud (AMO) or in Google/Bing. You can now get the following data within Adobe Analytics: Impressions, Clicks, Costs data directly from the search engines as well as a AMO ID Instances (Click Instances). "

Then surprisingly "Display" data  is supported and unfortunately with a partial support the whole thing is not sustainably usable with analytics only.  May be only the Media Optimizer has full support.
Remaining solutions then "DIY do it yourself" api connection or third party connector.
Thanks.

I don't give up yet _ the URL with s_kwcid=...  !u! captures and transmits at least the "u" for SmartShopping to adobe

Somehow explained by adobe- Why then no data?

Before I apply or add my classification for the !u!, which is "Smart Shopping" I would really appreciate some cpc data: impression and so coming in. At least the article confirms adobe's knowledge about the existence of "Smart Shopping" as own channel.
