Mobile Browsers should not be classified as "None" in Browsers Report

Today the "Browsers" report, classifies mobile devices as "None".

Displaying "None" even when a User-Agent is clearly captured, represents a confusing and misleading end-user experience.

If anything, this behavior only breeds mistrust of all reported data.

At a minimum, the "Browsers" report should behave similar to the "Browsers Type" report by presenting an "Other".

None should be reserved for the instances where the user-agent is unavailable, obscure, or otherwise not reasonably classifiable.

I’m sure I’ll be doing much more mobile analytics this year. Straight away there is a big gap in Omniture’s reporting. Here are my ideas:

1) I need to see mobile devices by browser and browser type. This is critical in case I have lots of traffic from a particular device and browser yet a poor conversion. This report will help me prioritise development effort on making the site more device and browser compatible.

2) I like (to some extent) the way that PC and mobile device data is kept separate in the reports. However, there needs to be an additional set of reports showing all data in one place. Eg, all operating systems, all browsers. It’s not enough to list mobile device operating systems and have a single line saying not identified for all PC users.

3) I also want a report showing key data by PC, mobile, tablet.

+1 for mobile browser reporting.

I'm assuming that data by PC/mobile/tablet should be available in SC 15 soon (if it is not there already), as I know in Data Warehouse you can now segment by Device Type (in both v14 and v15).

Big time agree with breaking out PC vs Mobile vs Tablet. Would love to see this built-in functionality in pre-configured segments and Mobile reports!

Need to see browser usage on mobile devices .. as certain things do not work in certain browsers and therefore can't assertain how many visitors/pvs affected

Carrier would be a great addition also.

Knowing the cell carrier can be very useful when looking at places to advertise and partner

I would really like #3 to easily answer the business question: What is the breakdown between PC and Mobile devices, and which are the most popular overall?

I just talked to client care about this as well.

When they identify the traffic as mobile, but they can't identify the Browser,  it should classify the Browser as "Unidentified - Mobile", so it least it's putting it in an understandable bucket.
