Hi there, Is it possible to block updates to a field on some occassions and not others? And I don't mean depending on which source it's come from (i.e. list vs form fill-out), but depending on record-based criteria (i.e is a user vs is not a user). Example: I have a field that for some people - let's say, record type A - I want to update and NOT block. For record type B, I use the exact same field but for them I DO want to block any updates from Marketo AND I want to block that field from even being populated by Marketo when it's empty.  Is this possible via Marketo or only via Salesforce? If the latter, does anyone know how to implement? Can you create a new profile for the Marketo user in Salesforce that includes all the same permissions except the ability to edit field X on record type B (but still allow it to edit field X on record type A)? It sounds like the easiest solution would be to create a different unique field for each record type, but we're so entrenched with using it a

All, A number of my Marketo Leads aren't syncing to SFDC due to the following error "createSObjects failed - 'Feb 04, 2013' is not a valid value for the type xsd:dateTime"  I think it pertains to a custom objects whose date format isn't supported in SFDC. I cannot, for the life of me figure out which custom object so that I can make the necessary updates. Does anyone have a workaround? Thx, Gio

Was wondering how people track different sources of registrations using a single landing page? for example, how many registrations did we drive from social media (twitter, linkedin, etc), email, web, partners, etc.I have used the URL builder and put in hidden field for the souce detail to pass over the different sources, but we have a landing page that has 4 different registrations on it: http://go.appsense.com/AMER_022613_Webinar_MobileNowLaunch_AM_RegistrationALLLP.html. How would I be able to add tracking for the other 4 links on those pages if it's coming from this single one first?

When sync'ing from Webex to Marketo can you token replay links for webinars to marketo emails?

After becoming a Marketo customer, I was sent an email for a downloadable whitepaper and was asked to fill out the lead form. Is it possible to for a current customer to hit the same landing page (to retreive the whitepaper) but to not be shown the form since we're already a Marketo customer?I ask because we will use this same process but won't want our current customers to balk at filling out another form for the content we want them to have. I would imagine a code in the URL of the email that keeps the form from showing up. 

Does anyone know the specific differences between these filters?For example, I have pulled counts for "Was Sent Email" and compared these two criteria. The counts were different by around 40 records. The "Past 30 Days" filter will clearly pull records from 30 days preceding the date of the pull. However, the "Past 1 month" could refer to 3 different results: Every record who "Was Sent Email" in the month of the preceding day. In this example, that would be January 1-30th.  Every record who "Was Sent Email" in the month which procedes the month of the day in which the pull occurred. In this example, it would be the entire month of December Every record who was "Sent Email" in the number of days of the current month. In this example, it would be in the past 31 days, which sort of makes sense based on the counts.  If anyone knows definitively which it is, I would be grateful! -Laura

I've got a scenario where I have grouped a bunch of possible duplicates in a Smart Campaign, where the Flow Action = Send Email, but I've added a choice:Choice 1 - If Random Sample = 50% > Send "Email A"Default -  Send "Email B"Now, I understand that when you batch a Flow Action of Send Email and there's duplicates in your Qualified Members, Marketo automatically dedupes for you.And from the testing I've done on my own duplicate records, I only received one email once.However, I'm trying to understand what is happening on the back-end exactly. Is it processing the Send Email as one action and auto deduping, OR is it just luck that I received one email, e.g. all of my duplicates fell into my 50% random sample and were processed at the Choice 1 step.Thanks in advance.

Hi,Trying to find the correct data regarding email performance...I've exported the email performance report to look at emails sent in the last 6 months. I want to find the open and click rates on specific outbound emails.When I average the % open rate + a % click rate - the number is a lot higher than the number I get when I do an excel formula (open rate = open/delivered). Has anyone come up against this scenario? What would be the best way to find accurate open + click rates?Thanks in advance,Mai

I've uploaded an enormous (unsubscribe) list and it'll take another hour before it's done. If I shut down my computer/Marketo, will it keep going, or will I need to start over in the morning? 

All, I am trying to measure how many pple click on each one of the various banners that we currently have in place on an on going basis. I looked into the web activity report and it is a rather high level overview and does not allow one to capture the number of clicks on a banner on a said page. (Or maybe I missed that?). I tried to build a trigger campaign that once a visitor-anonymous or otherwise- clicks on one of the banners on my page, it records that activity as a single entity. I guess what I am trying to figure out is, is there a good way to do this? If so, how do I go about it?  Thx.

I want to send the same email out to customers of four separate sales teams.  Each email should appear as though it's coming from the sales manager of each team.  Obviously, I could use tokens if the lead owner was the sales manager but since this is not the case, is there another work around for this? I'd rather not have to create four separate programs so I have all my metrics in one place.

Hi Guys!I seem to have a problem where although my location settings have been set as Australia, my intance of Marketo continues to report in PST. We have created three different email address for three different periods of the time during the week (i.e Sunday - Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, Friday & Saturday). How can I set up the Flow so that Marketo knows to only send email blast #1 on Sundays - Tuesdays, email blast #2 on Wednesdays & Thursdays, and email blast #3 on Fridays & Saturdays? We have a contact form for our website, which is a Marketo form.   People enter their name, email, and a message.  We need all this data to sync into salesforce.   Currently the form uses "AboutMe" - but where does this info go into salesforce?  It's not appearing anywhere on the salesforce side.   Is there a better field to use?

I would like to use a Marketo form to capture customer registration details for an event, then change the progression status to 'Registered' and send me an alert. However for fields like 'Please choose option 1, 2 or 3' or anything where I dont require the info in SFDC I do not want to have to add a hidden field in SFDC in order for a field to be avaliable in Marketo for this information to be stored and an alert sent. The perfect senario would be for the form to capture the information in itself and send me the alert (using an option in the form builder), then change the progression status. The progression status can be linked to the status in a SFDC  campaign but the invite is going out to customers and we already have all the contact information we need so the information going into the form doesnt need to be added to a field in Salesforce.Is there any way this can be done? 

I have a smart campaign that syncs all new leads to Salesforce; however, even though a new lead is created, it's not showing up in Salesforce. I haven't reached by API limit and there are no Marketo notifications.Additionally, I had a list of 53 leads that needed to be synced, so I tried to just sync those 53 manually by selecting them and clicking "Sync to SFDC" and still no new leads show up in SFDC. Am I missing something?

Hi,One of my colleagues wants to send a mailing with one unique visual per lead. My suggestion would be to:- create a custom field- populate this field with customized picture urls- add the token of this new custom field as the picture url within emailingWould that sound the right way to do it? What happens if a lead no longer meets the smart list criteria? Are they automatically removed from the flow?

Hello-I'm setting up a monthly lead score degradation smart campaign and wondering how I can set up a "do not go below" threshold? I would like the score to bottom out at 1 but can't figure out how to do this. Thanks for any suggestions.
