Why, on my instances, don't I have access to the package share section?I have a 404 on /crx/packageshare/

I recently read a great article on apache sling models and I thought I would try to put it to use in AEM 5.6.1 but I am having trouble getting the dependecies and maven-bundle-plugin settings just right. Has anyone else tried this with success?

Hi All,I wanted to write a code as below[Out Of the box AEM 5.6.1]:- When the number of stale workflows in the system exceeds a particular number(for example say 5),notification has to be sent out to some concerned email inbox/distribution list, stating that the number of stale workflows has exceeded the count of 5.I visited few forums and I was told the below:1] you can use JCR observation to achieve that. 2] Another way is to use scheduling in Sling.Can anyone provide additional inputs/pointers/relevant examples. Would be helpful.

Hello, gurusPlease, let me know where I can get AEM 6 beta release.  The official preview page http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/pre-release/overview.html has no links/references on obtaining beta release.  We have AEM 5.6 licensed and available for download on Adobe licensing site.  Do you know the ETA of version 6 general release?Thank you,Mike Venford

Hi, our company is new to CQ5.We have blog post pages, and part of their data is title, hero image and short description of the blog post.We want to pull that data (I assume it lives in /content folder in the JCR) and put it into other components we use around the site. Specifically we want a sort of "blog sneak peak" component that can go on any page and links to the whole blog post. Surely that's right up CQ's alley, but we're not sure how. Can someone layout the general process we'd use to do this? To us it seems strange to have to use an API to access this data.Regards,Roneesh

Last week we encountered a bug that took us a few days to fix. We had accidentally named an nt:folder node config and non-admin users didn't have read access to its children. Interestingly this node name had been chosen by one of our CQ5 experts. After struggling for hours and tearing apart all our provisioning scripts, the same person who had caused the bug had a light-bulb moment and remembered that CQ5 treats nodes named config in a special manner.Had the node been rendered with a special icon in CQ5, it would have probably saved us a couple of days (and a few thousand dollars) worth of investigations.As such I think CQ5 should render special nodes with special icons that instantly convey the message that, well, they are special.Thanks in advance. PLUS: My profile's activity page has not been updated in the past couple of months or so. Hi All,I am trying out basic code examples in 5.6.1 AEM instance.For example, I was trying the article "http://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/using/programmatically-accessing-cq-content-using.html" and it requires eclipse, jackrabbit standalone jar and it works fine.However, if I have to try some other basic code examples, I am not at all getting how do I do it.I have local maven repository,eclipse. I could follow as it is the article http://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/using/creating-custom-aem-workflow-steps.html.1] But in case I have to write my own code[say some custom workflow code], should I follow the same steps as mentioned in http://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/using/creating-custom-aem-workflow-steps.html[excepting that replace the java code with mine].2] The reason I am having problem is if I make use of the above step, in eclipse it doesn''t give me the intelli-sense option and also it throws error against every line[irrespective of the code being correct or

Hi.What should I do to save the host during url mapping?For example, I have link on the page: http://localhost:4502/content/geometrixx/en.html. I need it to be http://localhost:4502/en.html.In Jcr Resource Resolver I have Url Mapping: /content/geometrixx/</. But it produces the link without the host. Adobe Experience Manager, Version 5.6.1.20130606. We are invoking CQ Garbage Collection with delete=true to reduce the size of crx-quickstart/repository, however GC hangs and has no impact on the disk usage.  We have tried invoking GC from the CQ JMX UI and from a curl command line:curl -v -u admin:password --data "delete=true" 'http://localhost:8880/system/console/jmx/com.adobe.granite%3Atype%3DRepository/op/runDataStoreGarbageCollection/java.lang.Boolean'After a few minutes, the CQ error.log shows "com.day.crx.persistence.tar.utils.DataStoreGarbageCollector Scan completed" and there is no more GC-related logging afterwards.  The curl command never completes, and apparently nothing has changed inside the repository on the filesystem.Please help us figure out how to make GC work here, thanks!

Hi, I want to add vertical scroll bar in the left hand side predicate of press center page. I mean the press center page of geometrix site is having Tags section in the left hand side. Inside Tags we have Business, Architecrure and Building, Locations and Travel . I want to put the scroll bar for Business, Architecrure and Building, Locations and Travel so that i don't have to scroll down the whole page to see the subsequent options below it.Please help me out in getting the scroll bar. I am not able to find the exact css class to modify it.Regards,prangya

When a tag is deleted on the author instance, it automatically gets removed from the publish instances.  I wanted to know if this was the normal behaviour? I haven't found documentation on this.Thanks.

Hi, I want to execute some code before the transition to any PARTICIPANT step to set up some properties in the workflow (mostly to be used in the email template)I know that I can create a process step and execute it before any PARTICIPANT step but it doesn't seems to be the best way to solve this problem.Another alternative I'm thinking is to create an EventHandler that set the properties in a NodeTransition to a PARTICIPANT step.But I have two questions:.- Is there any way to guarantee that this handler will be executed before the EMailNotificationService event handler?If there is no way to guarantee this, is there any other way to achieve my requirement (execute some code before a PARTICIPANT step in a generic way).- For some reason when the new handler update the workflow the changes are not persisted.I tried two alternatives but none are working: WorkItem currentItem = (WorkItem) event.getProperty(WorkflowEvent.WORK_ITEM); currentItem.getWorkflowData().getMetaDataMap().put("test",

Hello, I have two questions:  Is it possible to disable the free crop, yet, retain and use other custom defined crop configurations. We do not want authors to crop the image using the free form tool, but, should be able to crop based on the pre-defined crop dimensions.  Is it possible to apply a default crop config on the image as soon as "crop" is clicked or image is loaded in to the html5smartImage.  I'm not looking to extend/create my own component based on html5msartImage, rather wondering whether there is any config or ootb way to do it?From my understanding, this cannot be achieved, wanted experts here to validate me. Best,Sivaram

Hello,We've got SAML working and autocreate users and assign group. We'd like to obtain other attributes from the SAML assertion including firstname, lastname and email that our idP provides and populate the auto created user.1) Is this configuration that isn't documented or should be autopopulated if our idP provided correct attribute names?or2) Do we need to extend/copy the SAML 2.0 handler and does anyone have examples or tips on how we might do this?Thanks,Sheamus

Hi,We have a requirement to read all nodes/pages under /content with their metadata and page properties.what is the best way to do this ? 

I deactivated the pages in author instances and it shows deactivated with red color.But deactivated pages  are showing up in publish instance. I did deactivated only in author.  What could be an issue ?
