Switching Email Templates

We need to switch the content in many of our emails from one template into another.  As far as we're concerned, the only way to accomplish this is to create a new email with the new template, then manually switch the content from each old email into each new email.  My colleague, however, thinks there might be a way to do this more efficiently, wherein the code of the new template can be placed into the code for the old template.  But we also don't wanna mess up each email using the old template.

Does anyone have any insights/suggestions for this?

Thanks!

There really is no workaround here: vote this idea up: (which is included in @Grégoire Michel's amazing list of bugs and missing features: Just do it! Marketo so-called minor missing features ).

Hi @Nick Nappo,

Dan is absolutely right on this. Have you considered creating a master email template? I have dealt with a few client earlier who implemented a master template with about 40-50 modules. Each of these modules would have template sections which would cover branding and designs of all the email requirements in the instance.

Although switching templates is not possible, considering to create a master email template can save you the trouble and hassle of creating a different template for each email.

Best Always,
