Show all users assigned to a specific task, not just the primary assignee

This is very closely related to this post, which was 3 years ago and there was no solution, so seeing if there is a solution now. Text mode for column in project report to display non-Primary assignment on specific templateTask? | Adobe Experience League Community

I created a column in a project report to show who the Reviewers on the project are. I did this by returning the user assigned to any task that has “Review” in the task name. Below is my text mode code:

displayname=Reviewerslistdelimiter=<br>listmethod=nested(tasks).liststype=iteratevalueexpression=IF(CONTAINS("Review",{name}),{assignedTo},"")valueformat=HTML

It works great, BUT only returns the primary assignee. I need it to return all users assigned to those tasks, not just the primary assignee. I’ve spent a few hours on it this morning and can’t figure it out.

I’ve also come at this from a user role angle as well. If user role does not contain X or X or X. But as the old post pointed out, people on the project aren’t always maintained and there is no defined role for Reviewer, it varies by project.

Any help is apprecieated!

You want ‘Assignment Users’ rather than ‘Assigned To’, which will only return the Primary Assignee as you’ve noted.

I’m not sure what to do with that, can you elaborate a little?

Looking at the API explorer, I can’t find assignment users. I see assignments as a collection under tasks, that does not work when I try to use it. I see project users under search in assignments, that doesn’t work either. When I look under users I see nothing related to assignments

hi, if you refer to this link:

https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/workfront/using/reporting/reports/text-mode/reference-collections-report

it specifically says (see last bulletpoint), “

Limitations of a collection View

Consider the following limitations when you are building a collection view:

  • You cannot control the order in which collection data is displayed.
  • You cannot apply conditional formatting to a collection view.
  • You cannot make an object in a collection a clickable link.
  • You cannot build a collection view of another collection.
For example, you cannot display all the assignees on each task in a project report. You can only display the primary assignee on each task in a project view.

“

A project contains a collection of tasks; each task with a collection of assigned users. You can display a collection of tasks, and you can’t display a collection of task-assignees because you can only go as far down as the collection of tasks.

Another helpful way to think about it is this part of the webpage that states, “

To find out what collections can be reported on:

  1. Go to the API Explorer.

  2. Find the object of your report.

  3. Select the collections tab.

    NOTE

Only the objects listed on this tab can be represented as a collection in a report for the object you selected.

“

If you go to the API explorer and look in the collections tab under projects you will see assignments isn’t one of the options.

Lastly, I encourage you to think about (and share) why you need to use this type of report or show this type of information since sometimes the community can help you come up with an alternative if they know what your goals/needs are. I wish you best of luck.
