Notification when a new version of Desktop Proofing App is released

I found this old Idea that asked to be notified when the Desktop Proof App gets a new version released. 

Did this ever get considered? We have to get this app uploaded into our Self Service by our IT department and we don’t know when there is a new version out until someone has an issue. It would be great to get this processing as soon as a new version is released.
