Question

Needing to see the project template name in a task report instead of the project template ID

I have pulled a task report but need to include the project template that the task originiated from. In the standard reporting, Template ID is under Project but that’s not terribly helpful. I do not have task templates in use. I’ve found the below but it doesn’t work for this. Help?

displayname=Template Name
linkedname=template
querysort=template:name
textmode=true
valuefield=template:name
valueformat=HTML

    Hi @user80276,

    From the first look I can see you are trying to do task report, and accessing template which does not have a direct connection to the task, it has direct connection to project which has connection to template. I hope this is clear but the dependency is task → project → template. This means when you want to access template from task level you have to do project:template:name as your first linked reference is project and then project has template reference.

    I would try changing template:name to project:template:name, please let me know if this works, if not I can check in my instance to confirm the proper syntax.

    Best regards,

    Thank you so much. I have changed the text to:

    displayname=Template Namelinkedname=templatequerysort=project:template:namevaluefield=template:namevalueformat=HTML

    Unfortunately it is not giving me any results. Could you check to see if it needs to be tweaked?

    Please try this (as suggested by @IvanCyber64)

    displayname=Project Template Name

    valuefield=project:template:name

    valueformat=HTML
