Adobe Workfront General

Would be great to be able to format (Bold, Italics, etc) in Project Details since that section can be very long. Would like to call out (Bold) areas that are important.

We can auto-attach custom forms to Projects and Tasks, but not expenses. We have custom Invoice and Receipt data we want provided with each expense, but this requires the user to make the effort to add the form rather than the system automating it.

Description - To better guide users in choosing filters, a description helps. Currently, even an admin can't update the Description of the Default filter. Why is this feature important to you - Defaults can be useful in streamlining administrative load because that means I don't have to make something if it already exists and meets our needs. How would you like the feature to work - Show a description of the filter so users can better assess when to apply the Default filter.Current Behaviour - There is no description associated with the Default filter. The only way to learn what the Default filter is is to copy it so you have edit fields.

We have an approval process attached to some of our request queues so when the person working on an issue feels they have completed their work, they can set the status to Closed - Pending Approval and the primary contact for the issue is automatically sent a request to approve or reject, which in turn closes or reopens the issue. This saves manual comments back and forth checking whether the primary contact considers the issue ready to close or not. We find that some primary contacts do not respond quickly to the approval request and would like the ability to send a follow up notification (perhaps 24 hours later) to the primary contact about any outstanding approval processes they are assigned to.

Description - similar to Excel, user would be able to freeze the Task Name and Number columnsWhy is this feature important to you - for Task List Views with lots of columns that require horizontal scrolling, user would be able to maintain visibility into the Task Name/# while scrolling to the right. How would you like the feature to work - not sure/open to ideas. perhaps a "freeze column" button. Current Behaviour - user must toggle between multiple views to see the necessary columns.

Description - When I have a project and need to attach another template, there is no option to add/remove forms from the template I am trying to attach. Why is this feature important to you - I need to fill out required fields on the form for the template I'm attaching. After the template is added, I have to go in and delete the form. How would you like the feature to work - Have an edit button when attaching a template to add remove forms like any other place found in workfront. Current Behaviour - Since there is a form on a template, if I want to add the template to an existing project, I am forced to fill out the form. Even if the form would not be applicable.

We need the ability to dictate the order of how proof reviewers/approvers appear in the list on a Proof. With some proofing groups added at a time on a Proof, oftentimes we need to remove a few people from within the group or change their role. Would like to see sort options to sort by proof role or by name (alpha order) for people to be able to easily find names to remove or roles to change.

If an uploaded PDF already has annotations tied to it, the desire is for the system to recognize those as comments and have them automatically added

Description - we would like Workfront Calendars to be enhanced so they could display projects/issues/tasks for configurable timeframe Why is this feature important to you - It would give us view into larger time frame How would you like the feature to work - give capability to customize timeframeCurrent Behaviour - 'View' drop down has the only options - 'Month', 'Week', 'Gantt'

We currently have 8 people who create projects via spreadsheet. This is important as they are creating anywhere from a small handful to multiple hundreds of Projects at a time. They each are responsible for a category of items that require Projects, so there's really no way at this time to consolidate to a couple users, as they are the keepers/managers of their own info.Unfortunately this requires all 8 of them to be full System Admin. So, these users have access to the whole backend and all the settings when they need a single access point - Kickstart import. I've built a PIN on their interfaces to take them directly to the Kickstart page, but it's still a bit nervy to have everything exposed where it could be accidently modified if someone got lost. Please fix. At least to a lower level Admin status that doesn't have access to the whole enchilada.

We have the common problem of people adding comments/documents to Issues/Requests after it has already been converted. I've done all the workarounds - views where only the converted link is shown, reports with converted object and not request, etc. It would just make life easier for everyone if after a request is converted into either a task or project, that only admins have ability to edit the issue.

Description - When you receive a notification that you've been tagged in an update, clicking on the update takes you directly to that that specific comment, rather than taking you to to the top of the updates section. Why is this feature important to you - We are trying to increase adoption and user participation. The complaint that being dropped to the general updates section and having to scroll through a ton of irrelevant updates makes it difficult to keep communication in workfront is one we hear a lotHow would you like the feature to work - receive notification > "update" is hyperlinked in "xyz commented on an update you're tagged in" > click hyperlinked update > link takes you to that update's actual position on the page. OR the update becomes an object that you can click into, similar to a task or an issue. Current Behaviour - I see that I get a notification, I have to scroll through old threads and replies and sometimes still can't find the message

I wanted to suggest an improvement to the task planning functionality in Workfront to make it more efficient and user-friendly. While exploring other work management tools, I came across the latest updates in Wrike that impressed me. In particular, I noticed that Wrike offers MS Excel like functionality for tasks planning which should be incorporated in Workfront as well. Some of the functionalities that caught my attention are: 1. Copy and paste multiple cells 2. Drag fill option 3. Create custom column in a blink of an eye during the meetings 4. Hide/freeze columns 5. many more...Reference video for product managers and developers at Adobe: What's new in Wrike - April 2023I believe implementing similar features in Workfront would enhance project task planning experience and improve adoption rate. There is a reason why people love MS Excel and MS Project for planning.

Description – Allowing System Administrators to select the default number of planned hours for issues. Why is this feature important to you – Currently all issue planned hours default to the length of the duration. This impacts capacity planning for users, specifically those that have a blend of issue and task-based work. This creates false alarm capacity reports when filters include both issues and tasks. For example, if a user is assigned an issue with a duration of 3 business days, the user is automatically allocated 24 planned hours when the issue may only take an hour to complete (over the course of 3 business days).  How would you like the feature to work – System Administrators can set the default planned hours per issue.  Current Behavior – Reports and manual editing are used to monitor, identify, and change as many planned hour defaults as possible.

Within the queue details and queue topics, we need to be able to set a default of planned hours the same way we can set a default duration.Without having to do hand work after a request has been submitted, we cannot get the resourcing tab to be accurate because of the planned hours being automatically defaulted to the duration. The duration of some of our requests is 3-5 days, so you can imagine how even just one submission (and we have many each day) can completely throw off the resource planner.

It would be great if, when tagging someone, Workfront would search names regardless of character accents in names.

Currently on live projects, you have the option to move to (move a task to another project), copy to (copy a task to another project) or duplicate (duplicate a task on the current project. When editing template tasks, the otions are move to and copy to.  If you wish to duplicate a task, you effectively have to copy it to the current template. For consistency and ease of use, it would make sense for the options on template tasks to match the options on project tasks and thus have a duplicate option.

Would love to have the feature added to Workfront that would allow a user to copy a folder within a project.

Description - In Reporting tool when clicking on "Show Filters", the system displays Group ID numbers assigned to each Group (eg. Filtered By: Group ID in 6329ecc1002d900350211fbb4b19f821). Enhance system to display the actual Group Names instead of Group ID# in the "Show Filters" click? Why is this feature important to you - Displaying random Group ID #s assigned is confusing and of no value to end users How would you like the feature to work - Show actual Group Name vs Group ID in "Show Filters" click Current Behaviour - the system displays Group ID numbers assigned to each Group (eg. Filtered By: Group ID in 6329ecc1002d900350211fbb4b19f821).

Description - This is a function I've seen on Click Up, where you can distinguish between task assignments and task watchers. The watchers would be on there for visibility to upcoming dates, monitor their employee's work, or to monitor progress in case their support is needed. Why is this feature important to you - We often have multiple assignees on a task for milestones, especially in the case of review meetings, or final approval tasks. As we all know, having multiple assignments on tasks does not function well in Workfront, but creating a bunch of duplicate tasks isn't a great solve either.  Distinguishing between assignment types would allow us to clearly identify who is responsible for a task, and who needs to be informed. How would you like the feature to work - in task assignments, select if assignments are responsible or watcher/informed. I think it would make most sense to default to a regular assignment but have the ability to edit in the advanced assignm

Description - When creating a new project, we would like the time of the start date to default to a specific time (in our case 9am)Why is this feature important to you - We receive numerous support queries from users who are struggling with resource scheduling. We cover the setting of new projects to 9am in training for all new users, but it's something that is seems to be easily forgotten and then time is spent helping them. How would you like the feature to work - To have a setting available at flexible levels (user / department / instance) where we can chose the default start time when creating new projects.Current Behaviour - If the user is creating a new project at 3pm, the start time of the first date specified will also be 3pm. Then when trying to allocate resources across days for tasks it won't do it evenly as the first day may only have a couple of times and the following days will be full.

We would like the option to make the Workload Balancer week to either carry on from where you left or to default view to the current week. Why is this feature important to you - this would save some frustration and time for those users where the current setting is to carry on from where it left off. It would then be flexible depending on users preferenceHow would you like the feature to work - Have a switch in settings that states "navigate to current week in start up"Current Behaviour - It default opens to the last viewed day(s)/week(s).

Description -The Home Work List Planned Completion Date field should be able to include the time.Similar to how you can select this in a task under advanced opitions, field format. Why is this feature important to you -This is important because assignees use the Work List as a hot sheet and to priortize when tasks are due.Having the time a task is Planned Completion Date is important for planning. How would you like the feature to work -Similar to how it works with a task in the schedule. Shows the Planned Completion Date with the Time.Current Behaviour -Only shows the Planned Completion Date.

Description - We are always in need of seeing the List View in Documents to determine when assets have moved from WF to AEM and understand errors if they happen. This We have a default view set up to do this, but are in need of defaulting from the Standard View to the List View. Why is this feature important to you - The creative team has enough to do, that it would be helpful, since all other views are able to be set to a default, to also set the list view in documents as a default. This is where all of the information for the document and status for move to AEM lie. Having to switch this every time they need to import final assets is a pain. How would you like the feature to work - WF admin sets list view as default view in layout templates - OR - the list view is set by the user and remains.Current Behaviour - standard view is always the default in documents no matter if the user changes and must be toggled back to list view each time

Description -Why is this feature important to you - This would be a big time saving feature when multiple lines of text need to be removed from a proof - such as in contract reviews.  this would also improve turnaround time How would you like the feature to work -Have a full proof edit option when a reviewer could mark multiple lines of text for deletion (redline). Be able to use the search feature in a proof to locate and mark for deletion the search for word(s) or final all and indicate a replacement in a single comment fieldCurrent Behaviour -  Each time the delete text  (strikethough) feature is used - a new comment must be created.  This is extremely time-consuming, causing some reviewers to not use proof - but download and redline the document instead.  The defeats the intent of using proof
