Hello - we have a need to connect disparate tasks/projects together with another project. The new Type Ahead custom field with the Project object seems like it could solve our need. However, having issues with reporting the data. For example: - Task A on Project A is associated with Project C (via the Type Ahead Project object custom field - this works)- Task B on Project B is associated with Project C (via the Type Ahead Project object custom field - this works)- I am having trouble displaying a dashboard on Project C that shows Task A from Project A and Task B from Project B I've attached a photo with a sample of what the report looks like when I don't have it attached in a dashboard (redacted for business need). When I open in the dashboard on the project, no data appears. Only filter I have on the report is: DE:Projects:Test Type Ahead - Project:ID_Mod=notblank Appreciate any insight - thank you!!

Hello all I am looking for some guidance/understanding to help one of my employees understand an inadvertent error he is creating. He is new to being assigned tasks in Workfront and on two different projects he has unassigned himself from a task and therefore the update stream denotes " will no longer be working on this". He is the first employee out of 30+ I have ever had this happen to where they didn't know how they did it. Other than the obvious action of clicking on the X in the top right hand side of the Assigned To tab (example below), is there any other way he is unassigning himself from tasks? Has anyone noticed that you can add bulleted items in updates, but when you hit the update button, the bullet function does not carry over and the bullets disappear from the list within the update? Carolyn Finney Independence Blue Cross

All my users have said that they're not receiving emailed updates/annoucements/reports/etc. from Workfront. I've put a ticket in with Customer Support but curious if other people are having the same problems.

Is there a way to have the typeahead fields filter off each other? Here is the scenario: Our video team has a video shoot of recording a lecture for training. We send one of our students to film it. Our staff video member will spend time walking over to check on how the filming is going along the way. We want to assign them to the task as well as a reminder that there is a shoot that day and they do need to go check on the student at some point. How would you all recommend setting that up so that the hours would be allocated correctly with the hours primarily for the student and then a small amount for the staff person? Thanks!! Hi WF Community, I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue around many users not being able to see custom fields on a custom form. We have a custom form (Standard Project Information) on all of our project templates. It's associated to the project object. People can see this forms custom fields when creating a new project from a project templates, but when they go into the project after it's created > Project Details > Custom Forms > Standard Project Information section, they don't see any fields under that form. I logged in as most all users of varying license types and groups/teams, and only a few people can see these fields. Any thoughts I where I should look to figure this out? Hi It seems that you can't kickstart import new tasks into an existing project, but I need to do just that for 93 tasks. Anybody have any tips or shortcuts to share that will make this bearable? Or do I have to suck it up and add them one at a time? Jill Ackerman

Hi all - Experiencing some really odd issues re: custom forms... the alignment/formatting that shows from the Setup --> Custom Forms --> Preview looks wonderful, but opening the Requests tab pulls up a form that seems alignment/row sharing/field width does not seem preserved as shows in Preview mode. Hi, I am trying to find and implement an efficient process that involves copywriting, 1st round of edits, 2nd round of edits, final approval, then usually document has to move to a design task. What is the most efficient way to move a document? Per example, when the copywriter is done writing the 1st version, PM needs to get the client's approval, there might be some edits, so it has to go back to copywriting. 2 tasks, same document, 2 separate time log. This goes also for the design of material with multiple revisions and final approval. What is the best way to manage documents revision, when the 'worker' and a PM need to log in time and the PM is the one getting edits and approval? I'm so sorry to post here but I just don't know where else to go... Before they cancelled the Leap conference in Orlando, I had been trying to get a hold of my reservations to make adjustments. I called the number provided in my Reservation Information sent to me after the reservation was made, (877) 382-7299, who I assume is WorkFront or a party they work with to plan this event, said they did not have record of my reservation so they sent me to the actual hotel where I am booked to stay. Which is weird since I booked through the WF hotel link that they, themselves, provided me for booking. So here I go, to the hotel asking if they had my booking...they said no, that the site where I booked, WF, might have not sent over the reservations yet... Now I am confused, in the Leap 2020 FAQ they mentioned that everyone who has a hotel booked through their website will get a refund but I am hoping I get one as well, although they weren't able to find my reservations... One of our users created a report to calculate the date 23 days after the date field "Vendor due date" by using valueexpression=ADDWEEKDAYS({project}.{DE:Vendor due date},23). I recently found the ResolveProjectId property of the issue. I would like to use this to distinguish between projects that are converted from issues and projects that are copies of those projects. Is this a proper use of this property? Is there a better way to differententiate between projects converted from issues and projects that are copied? Jason Saunders

I'm working to import a large volume of issues and connect them to resolving tasks in about three projects. Does someone have a template for that? I was trying to import just a single test issue, but I got an error about queueTopicGroupID which isn't a column in the Kickstart download. Thanks, Brian McKinley

We're trying to organize a report to help show our busier times of the year. To do this, we'd like a report to group data by month over the course of 3 years. For example, we'd want March 2017, 2018 and 2019 grouped together followed by April 2017, 2018, 2019 etc., all in one report. Since we haven't been able to get a Workfront report to do this for us, we've been exporting data to Excel - see the attached example for reference. Does anyone know how to get a Workfront report to format like this? We'd love to be able to avoid exporting to Excel if we can. Bridget Harrod

Here's the scenario: We have a QC team of three people. They are assigned to a stage to review in Proof, and "only one decision required" is needed. What happens if there are edits needed: when the next version is uploaded, do all three get another email, or only the person that made a decision the last time? I know a proof owner can manually remove the people in between rounds, but "manual" is a four-letter word. I'm thinking it's scenario A, but the email overload is concerning some of our BPs so I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. Thanks, Ryan Ryan McGee

In our environment, all project managers inherit view-only access to all projects in the system by design. Our organization is simple: a small number of Group Project Managers (GPMs) and Project Managers (PMs) who report to specific GPMs. Every so often there is a need for a PM to give their GPM Manage access to a project (instead of the inherited View access). The PMs do so without necessarily adding the GPM to a specific task. Is there a way to generate a report for the GPM that lists projects they are specifically shared to in this manner? Basically want to filter-out a project list to just those projects the GPM has Manage access to, but does not own. Kevin Quosig

Hello All, I have an issue report and I am trying to reference the planned completion date of a specific task in one of the resolving projects. I'm not even sure this is possible, but hoping it is. I'm using iterate with an If statement. Not sure when this started happening, but when I do "Add New>Document" and select a file to add, WF is automatically converting it to a Proof with no workflow. Not ideal, as I don't want to have my backup data converted as a proof. Going to "More>New Version>Document Only" allows me to over-write the document, but this seems like a weird hassle. Anyways, just seeing if I'm alone in this issue. Ryan McGee

Trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. I have a report where I selected Summarize on several field using Sum or Average. I would expect the column to add up but notice that in some cases the total is reflecting zero. Hello Experts, I created a project report (attaching screen shot with this request). Here I am trying to highlight Actual Hour with Bold and Red colour, if it is more than Planned Hours.
