Question

How to lock the Project from Editing after the Project was marked Complete or Cancelled.

I have a unique requirement where I want to lock the Project from being able to be edited after 7 days of the Project going to Complete or Cancelled. How to achieve it using Workfront native functionality or Fusion automation?

Hi, The best approach is to open the project’s sharing options, set the permission to View for all users/teams/groups, and then disable inherited permissions. Users will keep view access but won’t be able to edit.

Be careful with disable inherited permissions, someone/team/group who is not in the sharing option might lose view access as well.

Hi @_Manish_Singh ,

Really good points, I would just point out the fact that as a system admin you would always have write rights, so it would not be a complete disable. Also one thing to think about here is what happens in an exception case, if there are such.

Yes removing access rights is the easiest way to achieve the functionality but it would still be good to think of reversal and saving the changes in some form of update or even in the data store ( which is also limiting in size)

Just my 5 cents. Please let me know what you think.
