Question

Finding the manager of a person via wild card on a drop down

Hi all,

I know it is possible to use a user wild card on a single drop down field in Workfront. Eg.

DE:Dropdown = $$USER.ID
DE:Dropdown_Mod = in

It will direct the report filter to filter of the drop down field based on the name of the logged in users.

Has anyone done text mode filter to try the manager? If the logged in user is the manager of a value in the drop down list, that is when the drop down contains names of users. I know a bit of a different use case but it is aligned with a different process.

Hi @LaurensKr1,

Could you elaborate a bit, what you mean with

If the logged in user is the manager of a value in the drop down list, that is when the drop down contains names of users

Here is the list of wildcards that you can use in text mode for logged in user, there is an option to get User role and determine from there if the user is a manager, but I ma not sure if you are looking for this.

Best regards,
