Approval link not available

We have just enabled Adobe storage and frame.io for review/approval.  Our testing has uncovered quite a few bugs. I already have a ticket in with support, but I’m curious if others are experiencing the same thing.

A big issue is that when someone starts an approval workflow, it seems to be a bit of a coin toss if the link generates or spins for a minute, then pops up a message “Approval link not available”

I’m sure it’s related, but one of our users who is in a ‘new’ project will sometimes see the old document page instead of the new view.

The failure to create a link has happened enough that it’s making it impossible to use for reviews right now.

Again, just want to see if others are experiencing these bugs as well or if there is just a glitch in our account.

Hi @JennySt5 , you're not alone on this,  the intermittent "Approval link not available" message when starting a review is a known issue with the Frame.io review integration, and it's actively being worked on. It's tied to the Frame.io review link occasionally failing to generate when an approval workflow starts, rather than anything misconfigured on your end.

The good news is your approval workflows, decisions, and comments stay intact when this happens, it's only the review link generation that fails. As a practical workaround while support investigates, if an approval comes up with a missing link, removing that approval and re-adding it with the same approvers/reviewers will trigger the review link to regenerate, and it usually comes through on the retry.

The intermittent "old document page instead of the new view" behavior you're seeing for users in newer projects is very likely related, as both stem from the Adobe cloud storage and Frame.io enablement still settling in your instance.

Since you already have a ticket open, I'd suggest asking your support contact to link it to the known Frame.io review link generation issue so you're notified when the fix reaches your environment. You can reassure your team this is a recognized issue being addressed, not a permanent limitation of the integration.
