Please Bring Back Full Breadcrumb Navigation with Visible Project Link

Use-case / Problem
Many of us rely on the breadcrumb navigation to quickly move between Program → Campaign → Project → Task. Until recently, the Project link was always visible, making it easy to return “home” to the project page in one click. Now, the Project link is hidden under the "More" menu, requiring multiple clicks and making navigation slower — especially for those of us who pivot back to the project page dozens of times a day.

Proposed Solution
Please restore the option to see the full breadcrumb hierarchy at a glance, with the Project link always visible. Or at least allow users to choose between a condensed or expanded breadcrumb view so everyone can work the way they prefer.

Benefits / Impact

  • Saves time by reducing extra clicks.
  • Improves daily workflow for project managers and frequent users.
  • Restores a familiar, efficient navigation style many teams depend on.

This small change would have a big positive impact on productivity and user satisfaction.

@kautuk_sahni this one is showing up in Conversations for me -- can you move it into Ideas?

@skyehansen Thank you for sharing this. I have moved this to the Idea section.

100% agree.. finding the extra clicking frustrating when it worked so well before

Hi everyone,  Just following up to say our team is still impacted by the breadcrumb change. Having the Project link always visible made navigation much faster and reduced extra clicks — something we rely on daily.  If this affects your workflow too, please upvote or share your experience so the product team can see how valuable this would be.  Thanks to the Workfront team for considering this feedback! 😊

Echoing the comments here. Having the full breadcrumbs available helped reduce the amount of clicks. Additionally, as a heavy Workfront user who deals with similarly named tasks, I have to manually click into the project or hover over the task menu to see which task I’m working on.

Chiming in here for my team as well. I know this seems like a very inconsequential UI change to a team who I’m guessing don’t heavily use Workfront. However, that ignores the fact that our heaviest users of Workfront are the task assignees, many of whom receive a significant number of identically named tasks from template task assignments.

This change is resulting in incredible inefficiencies, rework and missed work as a result. I now have a backlog project to evaluate the impact of completely redesigning all of our templates so tasks no longer nest more than 2 levels deep to avoid this, which is frankly silly. Even if I could, I’d then have to retrain all our PMs to never use the task-nesting feature the way they’ve been using it for years.
