Getting kicked out of the update section of a project

I have a user that is being "booted" out of the updates section, mid comment, and being taken into the proof. This seems to be happening at random. When he goes back to the updates section his comments are gone. Has anyone else had this happen? I will open a support ticket but wanted to check here first.
