As promised! Here is the formatted Q&A from the event. 🦁

MCP
Question Hi, please let me know if this question comes through. For the MCP updates, it mentioned deprecation of a few items. For those of us that our organizations don't have the Gen AI agreement signed and aren't incorporating AI, will the Search and field deprecations still occur? Can you be very specific on those deprecations? Can you be specific on how this effects those that aren't toggled on for AI in Setup and aren't Gen AI signed? Thanks :)
Reply This release comment is specific for MCP tool updates and is not about the actual functionality/fields in Workfront.
Question Do we have to have MCP in order to use any agentic AI or are there agents we can use without MCP?
Reply For this release, you need an AI tool and WF MCP. We will be releasing a new AI Assistant that will already be configured - it is on our roadmap
Question What can MCP read versus MCP write do--and how is this applicable with and without AI toggled on in Setup?
Reply Use caseshttps://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/workfront/using/basics/workfront-mcp-server/use-workfront-mcp-server
Tools - https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/workfront/using/basics/workfront-mcp-server/workfront-mcp-server-tools
If the write toggle is off, you can only ask questions and won't be able to make any changes to any Workfront data
Question Are we able to use a partner sandbox to test MCP scenarios?

Reply Yes.
Question Will there be documentation regarding enabling bidirectional MCP with Copilot? Including Workfront config, but also Copilot's required config/permissions.
Reply The administrator for your AI agentic platform enables Workfront access on that platform’s side. This varies by platform and  the admin is typically a different person  than the WF admin so we had not planned on providing that. This might be something that Product would consider providing in the future.
Question Will MCP be available for Workfront Fusion as well?
Reply It's not currently available, but yes - coming soon!
Question When will Copilot and Gemini be available?
Reply Manual connection using the Workfront MCP url is available now.
https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/workfront/using/basics/workfront-mcp-server/configure-workfront-mcp-server
Official connector for Gemini, OpenAI is coming very soon
Question Will the MCP be available if you already have the AI Addendum signed? (meaning - this isn't a part of the Agent SKU or another SKU)? Also, when will this be available?
Reply Yes, this is part of the July 16 release.
Question Is there any addtl cost associated with MCP?

Reply We are focusing on providing value. No. pricing is TBD but you have our commitment that there will be no charge for Workfront MCP at least until December - fair use limits apply
Question Are those AI platforms that you list the only ones that integrate via MCP? Specifically, is Writer integrated?
Reply If An AI harness can add an MCP server, it can add the Workfront MCP
Question When will the MCP server be available to customers not using AWS?
Reply We don't want to overpromise here but please know we are working really hard to make it part of this release.
Workfront Planning
Question Will AI work in planning similarly to workflow in terms of generating summaries? Thinking like a parallel between Project update summaries and Planning record type summaries

Reply Yes, you can use the AI assistant in Planning records to summarize the comments, ask questions about the record's content, and much more. They should be similar but some of this will depend on the Agentic platform that is being used as well.
Question Just to confirm, this AI planning enhancement has been out since march already correct?
Reply The AI Planning Designer was previously limited to specific group of customers, and now it's available to everyone as a Beta.
Question Is the Control Access at the record level only applicable to Planning? Or will it also be available in WF?
Reply Workfront Workflow already has object-level access controls, so this is new for Workfront Planning.
Question Does the record summation feature also work with grouped records (summation with each grouping)?
Reply Summation for groupings will be a follow-up enhancement in upcoming releases.

Question Is this Campaign info related to Planner or Workfront Workflow?
Reply These slides are referring to a custom record type in Workfront Planning
Question Is the time zone feature only going to be in Planning? Or will it be in the legacy Workflow/Production view as well? That would be so helpful to have it in both as we have teams across the world.
Reply For now, the timezone component is only part of date field in Workfront Planning. Thanks for the feedback, we will consider it for Workflow fields backlog as well
Question Are there plans to make Planning data available in Data Connect?
Reply Yes. Not in this section addressing Planning changes, but customers with Data Connect and Planning will have access to Planning data with this release.
Question Does the cross-workspace connection mean we could use legacy reports on Planning data?

Reply No. Planning data is still only reportable through the Canvas Dashboard-based reports.
Workflow
Question If changes are made by Fusion, what user is mentioned? Is it the Fusion connection user?
Reply yes, based on the connection that is used in fusion
Question Will this tell us if a template or custom field changed?
Reply With upcoming iterations, we are going to introduce configurations, which will allow you to track any of the fields on any object
Question Is there anything from IT that needs to be enabled or just the toggle within the instance?
Reply The Change History will be available for System Admins only, you can find it in Setup > Change Tracking > Change History
Question Why is the "User" option greyed out in the Change History List in Workfront?
Reply It's the default column on the list
Question Would this change history include changes made to fields in custom forms, specifically in deliverables?
Reply Currently the Administrators can view the list of tracked fields in the Configurations tab. And the setup of the trackable fields will be introduced in the upcoming iteration.
Question Will the change history show ALL changes or just those fields that we track?
Reply Administrators can view the list of tracked fields in the Configurations tab . Configuration of trackable fields will be introduced in future iterations.
Question What are system prerequisites for Change History MVP?
Reply Change History is available to Workfront System Administrators for the first version and requires no additional configuration. A predefined set of supported fields is based on the configuration you had on Journal Entry and Audit Log. Administrators can view the list of tracked fields in the Configurations tab. Configuration of trackable fields will be introduced in a future iterations.
Question Does the template rate card override the role rate?
Reply Yes, the Rate Card rate overrides the Role rate. For the complete billing rate hierarchy and precedence rules for the User and Role Hourly revenue type, see Overview of revenue and cost hierarchy in Experience League:
https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/workfront/using/manage-work/projects/project-finances/overview-revenue-cost-hierarchy
Question In the message text in the change history log it says "Created a new ParameterValue" will this eventually be updated to show the changed from and to values?
Reply You can also use the Column Manager to add the "Old Value" and "New Value" columns, giving you more detailed insight into exactly what changed for the record.
Question Is there any plan in the future to allow request queues/intake forms accessible to non-Workfront users? We still have to use a competitor product to accomplish this, since we have submitters all across the org.
Reply Great question.  it's one we hear a lot. It's something we're looking into.
Question Were the richer Request Statuses only for Planning?
Reply For now yes! But this change also includes supporting native issue request statuses in new requesting experience. Custom statuses of issue requests on its way.
Question Can we use the Multi-select on Workflow and Canvas Reports in a chart view?
Reply Not yet
Question Is there a plan to incorporate additional actions into the Change History List? For example, it would be helpful to track when custom forms are added and removed from objects and who added/removed the form.
Reply As mentioned, this is the MVP release of Change History. We'll continue to enhance the experience and introduce new capabilities in future releases - with upcoming iterations you will have the ability to configure the trackable fields, which will support all the fields - across all the objects
Question How do you know which contract type you are on - I note the "Workflow Prime or Higher" caveat in the top corner
Reply You can check your Setup->System->Licenses area or you can reach out to Support or your sales representative.
Question For the "Custom currency data fields in Canvas Dashboard reports" what specifically is being enhanced?
Reply In January, we introduced an option to pivot between the currency displayed on all canvas-based reports on a  Canvas Dashboard.  With this initial version of the currency toggle, we did not support using custom financial fields. This meant that customer with multiple exchange rates defined would not be able to use a custom financial field in your report's filter, view, or aggregation.
With this change, customers with multiple exchange rates defined can now use custom financial fields in canvas reports, and the currency toggle works for you too.
We also will now have support for financial fields coming from Planning record types too.
Question When will Canvas reporting allow for in-line editing of custom fields?
Reply We do not have immediate plans to add in-line editing options for Canvas Dashboard visualizations as we are working other portions of that roadmap at this time.
Content & Approvals
Question Does the unified review tool include e-signature for approvals?
Reply Not yet, but on the roadmap!
Question Any change changes/comments can be viewed in InDesign?
Reply InDesign comments will be the same, no sync between the two
Question Any updates to proofing reports with the unified approval changes?
Reply Reporting will use Canvas dashboards - much more robust reporting
Question What if we want to change from Proof to Frame.io?
Reply To access unified review and approvals and Frame.io you need to move over to one of Workfront's v2 SKUs.

Question Is this Parallel approvals path only when using the Unified Approvals??
Reply Yes
Question What license requirement is needed to use the Approval Paths?
Reply This is available to all customers who are using unified approvals.
Question So it will run as simultaneous review?
Reply Yes, each path runs in parallel.
Question Will comments be exclusive to each path? i.e. user in path 1 can't see comments from people in path 2?
Reply They are not exclusive. Users can see comments on other stages.
Question Are private approval/review stages/private comments supported?
Reply Not yet.
Question Are the Approval Paths also for Issue/Request approvals?  Will the details move over with the Issue over to a Project?
Reply This release is only for documents not objects (projects, tasks, issues).
Question Do we have a test instance available to validate the Unified Approval integration with Frame.io and those releases ?
Reply You'll need to be on the new SKUs to get access or test these new features in Unified Review and Approval.
Question What are the pros and cons of converting to Adobe Cloud Storage? What are the pros and cons of staying in Legacy? As an admin, what do I need to know about the conversion to Adobe Cloud Storage?
Reply See here: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/workfront/using/review-and-approve-work/workfront-storage
Question Custom message by approver or does that apply to all if there a multiple people reviewing?
Reply Custom message goes out to any Reviewer or Approver on that stage.
