Current Version: External Storage ID - Is this loggable info?

As a backup plan, I want to log links to Dropbox should the links get broken we know where the linked document lived. I can't seem to create any fields with a calculation that will log it. Ideally logged onto the task custom form. Logistically I cannot figure out how to do it or if it's even possible. #stilllearning
