Location popup potentially blocking my AB test

Hi,

I have created an AB test using the experience template (pop up upon exit intent).  The "last chance offer" popup fires properly within the edit activity phase while setting up the test.

My site has geo-location functionality so upon entering, there is a popup in the top left that asks "______ wants to know your location.  Allow or Block"

It seems that when this location popup shows, the AB test (exit intent) does not always fire.

In addition, if I already have hit allow or block, then return to my site at a later time....the test actually works.  Ideally we need this to work ALWAYS, not when someone returns. 

Is this a known issue?  Could there be another problem?  Has anyone had this occur and maybe have a workaround?

    I'm not sure what the answer to your question is, however, I do have a thought to share:

    Do you think it is likely that the end-user would:

    Option1:
    1. Load up the site
    2. Immediately after close out


    or would it be more likely that they would:

    Option2:
    1. Load up the side.
    2. Select either "Allow" or "Block"

    3. Read a few words.

    4. Then attempt to close out

    In your testing, it kind of sounds like you are expecting the pop-up to show up even though there already is another pop-up in Chrome. However, I'm curious if you were to close that initial pop-up and then attempt to exit would you see your pop-up?

    Sorry, let me word that a bit better.

    Here is what happens to a first time user:

    I have an AB test set up on this page (homepage) where 1 of 2 offers pop up upon the user hovering over the exit window or exit tab. 

    It seems like this Location pop up is preventing the AB test from performing. 


    Example:  On my first entry to the site, when this shows, upon leaving, no offer shows itself.  If I then RETURN to the site, this obv doesn't show and the AB test works.

    I need this to show to everyone, especially upon first site visit.  Is it possible the location pop-up is preventing my AB test?  Is there a workaround?

        Hi Mihnea,

        To answer your questions:

        It is much more likely that someone will follow Option 2. 

        Option 2:
        1. Load up the site.
        2. Select either "Allow" or "Block"

        3. Read a few words.

        4. Then attempt to close out

        We sell warranties so there happens to be a decent amount of information available on the homepage along with both plans that we offer.  But if someone goes to leave the site, we want to rope them back in with a special deal. 

        In your testing, it kind of sounds like you are expecting the pop-up to show up even though there already is another pop-up in Chrome. However, I'm curious if you were to close that initial pop-up and then attempt to exit would you see your pop-up?

        - After I close OR interact with that location popup (regardless of my selection), the AB exit intent popup does not fire.

          Hi @ians,

          Assuming this will help you somehow :-)

          Are you doing this on "mouseout" function ? We had configured the same activity a while ago and did not see any problem with notification alert. Since the alert is inside the view-port and "mouseout" function works only if user moves his cursor above the viewport, your pop-up will be displayed even in his first visit. Please check with your front end developer how the pop-up functionality is designed. Let me know if you need any more information.
