Do we need Adobe Target implemented on the previous page for the previous page targeting condition to work under Site Pages

I need to create an audience based on the previous page condition using Site Pages. Previous page is one of the affiliate sites where they do not have Adobe Target implemented.

For example, if my previous page is facebook.com, and I need to target visitors who are clicking on facebook.com and landing to my site (my site has Adobe Target implemented). Once they land to my site (from facebook), I want to show the test content.

My questions is –  do I need Adobe Target to be implemented on facebook.com for the previous page targeting condition to work in audiences?

    Hi @ande2 

    NO, you do not need Adobe Target implemented on your previous page ( for ex. facebook.com as you mentioned) 

    Basically, when a visitor clicks on a link from a site like facebook.com and lands on your actual site (where Adobe target implemented) the browser sends the URL of the referring page in the HTTP "referrer" header. 

     

    So when you're creating an audience in Adobe Target,  you can use the "Previous Page" condition from the "Site Pages" audience category. This condition essentially checks if document.referrer matches the criteria you've added. 

     

    Just to inform referrer works only when the protocol matches like for Ex. if the previous page is https://abc then your landing page must be in https://  only.

      @ande2  considering using Referrer base targeting and define condition[ Ref URL]/operator[contains]/value[paramto check]
