Customer Attributes vs Data Providers

Question

What are the differences between customer attributes and data providers?

Perrin_Ennen · Accepted Answer

Hi @naga_raju11,With data providers you can write data to the user profile via a server call before the target-global-mbox is fired. Customer Attributes are going from a CRM system (e.g. through a csv export) to the Adobe Enterprise Cloud People service. These values can be stored accordingly in the userProfile. Hope this helps you.

Customer attributes refer to specific characteristics or traits of individual customers that are relevant for businesses. These attributes can include demographic information (age, gender, location), psychographic details (lifestyle, interests, values), behavioral patterns (purchase history, browsing behavior), and more.

Data providers are external entities or companies that specialize in collecting, aggregating, and selling data. They collect information from various sources, including public records, online activities, surveys, and other data-generating activities. Data providers may gather data from a wide range of places, such as government databases, social media platforms, online surveys, and partnerships with other companies using different contact enrichment tools. They often compile large datasets that can be valuable for businesses seeking additional insights into their target audience.
