Can Marketo create new Accounts/Contacts in Microsoft Dynamics CRM?

  1. No. Marketo only creates new Leads in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Updates to existing contacts are synced to Microsoft Dynamics CRM but we don’t create new contacts directly from Marketo. Account updates are one way - from Microsoft Dynamics CRM to Marketo.

Can someone tell me if this is up to date information. When I was recently troubleshooting an integration issue with converting leads to contacts, Marketo suggested that this functionality is now available it coming soon. If so, can we set rules to only creates contacts for certain 'leads' when an Account # is provided (meaning we map this prior to importing leads into Marketo) - we would like to do this, so Marketo can track these net new leads as acquired by a particular program as opposed to creating in CRM.
