"Get Started" series - go through these for quick general familiarization.
"Foundation Replay" - investing the time in the four modules is the way to go!

Totally agree with Heather and Andrew for those first steps. Then pick the areas you want more info about in the Tutorials and Deep Dives at https://community.marketo.com/MarketoKnowledgeHome?src=community
I'd suggest my blog once they've done the Tutorials and taken a few key steps into sending emails or setting up lead management: http://www.marketingrockstarguides.com
I agree with all of the above: - Do some tutorials - Attend the user groups...
Then dive straight in! Organise some test campaigns to built up confidence and keep the community pages open. There are so many people who are happy to share their knowledge and experience and if you don't find an answer to your question straight away, you can start your own discussion, be as detailed as you can and get all the answers you need from experts, consultants, Marketo staff and regular users who have had similar experiences.
I agree with all of the above. We still heavily use the foundations videos for anyone new to the system. The Big Launch Webinar is a running joke around here (in a good way). I've learned the most by logging into the community and just reading discussions. Even if I didn't know what the discussion was really talking about at that time it was a good learning experience and I'd remember down the line that someone once had this same question and I knew I could find the thread and get help.

The Foundations replay is essential! There is no better way to learn the system than by getting in there and using it. Just following along with the course gives some excellent hands-on experience with Marketo.
