Internal employees not receiving all emails due to comms limit

We have multiple campaigns and events that we’re sending emails for throughout the week. Our internal employees would like to receive all the emails, but the communication limits are blocking them from receiving if we send more than one email/day. Is there a way to get around the communication limits for certain contacts? If I create a separate distribution list (ex. mktg-team@company.com), will this still be a problem? How is everyone else dealing with this issue? I don’t have the time to upload all of our emails to a shared drive/Teams folder for our internal folks to access.

    A distribution list isn’t a good idea because any member of the list can unsubscribe everyone!

    The best bet for internal employees is to send the same email using Send Alert, which doesn’t count against comms limits.

    This is going to be your best bet and just requires a slight tweak to your existing Smart Campaign or adding a new one for an Email Program.

    Great call, Sanford.

    I feel a misunderstanding here. If the question is: Can you send the alert to members of a List or a Smart List, the answer is no. The recipients of the alert have to be defined in the Send Alert Flow Step.

    That field can be a list of email addresses, separated by comma or semicolon, or by a program token that represents this list.

    Mind that that recipients of the alert don’t need to be in the Marketo database, in which case they would never be members of a Marketo List or Smart List.

    • the campaign’s Smart List uses Member of Smart List
    • the campaign‘’s Flow uses Send Alert » To Other Emails ⮕ {{lead.Email Address}}

    That’s “sending an alert to members of the Smart List” in my book!

    Oh, I see. Alert recipients are in the Smart List section of the SC.

    But tokens are only allowed in the “To other emails” section if the Send Alert flow step is in a trigger campaign. And sure, you could somehow make the potential recipients of the alert trigger the campaign, but in real life, that wouldn’t be the case.
