The new email editor is introducing List variables that enable the designer to set a List of values to be chosen by the user creating an email. This is great but is still missing the possibility to display one thing and have the stored value to be more technical.Typical usage for this would be to enable the user to change some CSS behavior on the fly. e.g.:<meta class="mktoList" id="textFontFamily" mktoName="Main Text Font Family" values="Arial,Verdana,Times New Roman">Would be used to change the fonts used in the whole emailBut in, some cases, you will want to hide the complexity to the user. Hi All,I would like to force a user to set a form in a mktoForm element in guided LP template so that a LP could not be inadvertently validated without a form in it.Having the possibility to also set a default form for the form element would also be welcome.-Greg

When we want to add a token to a string variable in a guided Landing page (to be tested in the email editor v2.0), we have to type in the token without error.It would be better if we could benefit of a token picklist, similar to what we have in flow steps (e.g. change data value picklist).-Greg

I would be able to trigger template behavior change based on some variables.For instance, I would have a text variable with 3 possible values and 3 zones. depending on the value in the text variable, only 1 of the 3 zones would appear.-Greg

Admins should be able to restrict the right to replace the HTML of emails. In large orgs, corporate wants to prevent users to override the graphical that are set for emails.In email template v2.0, this feature is now called "Edit Code"-Greg

The MktoImg element enables to define where images should be in a guide LP template and in an email 2.0 template.When using the div method, the template designer can even set a default image (mktoimgSrc attibute), but it is not possible to set the alt value of this image.So we need to also have a mktoimgAlt attribute to set the defautl alt value.-Greg

Adding CTA's to a template can be troublesome:Either you use a rich text element and you have the risk that the user makes some errors (such as erasing some inline CSS styles)Or you use some variables (email 2.0 or guided LP) and create a CTA text and CTA URL variable, but then you cannot include this CTA in a "clonable" module (since when you clone the module, it does not clone the variables, and you would end up with all your CTA's having the same label and same URL)So I propose that Marketo adds a CTA element that would enable to set the text and the link URL. I've been in a few situations where a flow step is dependent on a specific system date (ex. 6/2/16) and not necessarily a date field (ex. conversion date).For example, a certain send email flow step should only take place if the current system date is after a program has already started (6/1/2016) so that new people entering the program will receive the first email right away since they missed it on 6/1/2016. It would be ideal to have a choice condition of: If "system date is after 6/1/16" then send email and default to do nothing. I understand I could bring in "Not was sent email" and then send it for this particular case, but there are many more capabilities if we have a conditional choice of the date.Another case this would be tremendously beneficial is assigning leads to our business development team based on certain dates. When I create or change an email, prior to leaving the page it'd be nice to have a reminder telling me to remember to update the Text Only for all portions of an email.Prior to sending the email, it'd be nice if Marketo showed me a screen of side-by-side HTML and Text-Only versions. It'd be nice if it made me click that I accept both versions prior to hitting send.  I have a lot of end-users who don't remember to update the Text-Only.  While this was NBD a few years ago, the Apple Watch is text-only which makes our messages look really bad if not done correctly.If Marketo wants to go buck-nutty and provide OUTRAGEOUS customer service, they'd warn me about things that won't work with Gmail, Outlook, etc.

Custom Objects have been a game changer for us. We are now enabled to easily use additional customer data points.It would be amazing if we could reference custom objects and field  in custom objects in Segmentation filters.

I LOVE having a Lead Database Dashboard!  The ability to have a quick look at who we are currently able to market to is powerful information.However, I think it would be more beneficial to have the following added to the dashboard instead of just the Marketable Lead number:Number of Anonymous LeadsNumber of Marketing SuspendedNumber of UnsubscribedIt would also be nice to have a quick look at the actual database number used to compare to our licensed database size.Thanks!

The default option in marketo variables is really useful, but I can see instances where I would not want to assume a default value.It'd be great to be able to set a required flag on variable declarations.<meta class="mktoColor" id="color" mktoName="My Color Variable" default="" required="required">Adding to that idea, a placeholder attribute to suggest, but not set a default<meta class="mktoColor" id="color" mktoName="My Color Variable" default="" required="required" placeholder="#0c0c0c">

If you create a custom object in Marketo and link it to lead and contact with 2 lookup fields, you will not be able to use this dual mapping in Marketo to create 1 custom object mapped to not leads and contacts. This is just not possible as Marketo sees this twin relationship as 2 SFDC distinct custom objects. Furthermore, if you try to map them both, you will get an error, because they have the exact same name.It should be possible to create one Marketo custom object out of these 2 relationships, and make Marketo smart enough to detect the lead conversion and "follow" the change in the linked fields.Ideally, Marketo would even be helpful, when a lead is converted to capture the ID of the resulting contact and update the relationship field in the custom object instances so that the link is set to the resulting contact (this currently requires the development of some painful SFDC triggers).The same mechanism should also apply to custom objects mapped to lead and account-Greg

The new email template V2 enable to create modules, i.e. email blocks that can be added by the user as needed to change the layout of an email.This is such a welcome functionality that we are looking forward to be able to roll it out.The only limitation is that these new elements only work on table html tags (<table>, <tbody>, <thead>, or <tfoot> for the modules, <table>, <tbody>, <thead>, <tfoot> or <td> for containers).Depending on the developments approach, in the emails, this may work... or not. Many fluid development approaches recommend to limit the usage of nested tables, excepted for Outlook, and to mainly use <div> tags.So this idea is about enabling also modules and containers to be set on <div> tags.-Greg

Currently, our Date token produces the following format in our emails: 2016-06-30It would be ideal to be able to set the format ourselves as this is not a common format in the U.S. and is not customer friendly.

Many of our central content programs are created in our global/default workspace.  But most of of nurture programs/EPs are built within the individual country workspaces.  Obviously we don't want to promote content to users who have already engaged with that content (aka, member of content program).  However, there's no way to filter out these leads from engagement casts using "member of program" when that program exists outside of the workspace.  I would like to have the ability to filter on any program throughout our entire Marketo environment.If this is too difficult to implement, then at least allow a "contains" operator within the filter/trigger (similar to how we track form submits that occur with forms that exist in other workspaces).  Today, only the following four are available:

It would be really useful if you could subscribe to an alert that you'd receive when your Salesforce (or any CRM) sync takes longer than a designated period of time. Our syncs typically take ~20 minutes, but in some cases, they can last ~45. If sync duration is > X minutes, send alert to X.

We'd love for static lists to be supported assets when a program is cloned using the Program API. We have a scenario where a shell/template program is cloned using that API and then recipients are auto added to the static list from CRM using another API call. We are currently unable to do this because of the static lists not being supported and have to use an older API call which results in a couple of undesirable things happening.

The new image variable is great as it enables to use them as background images, which was previously difficult (since tokens would not resolve in if mso comments.But then it is now impossible to set the image using a token. Currently, per the doc, it is not possible to have more than one container in which we can insert modules.This means that in a template with multiple modules, we cannot control in which area of the email a module can be inserted. This would lead to unexpected results such as a logo or hero zone at the bottom of the email.It should be possible to set multiple containers per emails, so we can control which module goes in which area. In each container, we would define the modules that could be set. This would enable to guarantee a much better consistency of the template and reduce the risk of errors.-Greg

After reading Allison Sparrow​'s post I got a crazy idea.What if you could create a form that could create & feed token values into a placeholder program for campaign requests?!This would be a HUGE time-saver, and allow Marketing Automation Managers/Specialist to simply validate, test and approve campaigns.

With the new email 2.0 editor it is possible to design modules that can be added to the email, in a container. Yet, a user could add in theory an unlimited number of modules to an email, making it too long to be read and too large a file to be quickly downloaded with a low network bandwidth.This idea is to propose muliple ways to control the number of modules in a container:The container should have mktMaxNumberModules attribute that would control the maximum number of modules to be inserted in the containerEach module could have a mktMaxNumberInstances attribute that would control the maximum number of time this module can be present in the container.
