Adobe Marketo Engage General

Hey all, quick question for those of you who use SimpleDTO as a pre-fill option.Does SimpleDTO support the pre-fill of checkbox or checkboxes fields? I am using the latest version (SimpleDTO 2.0), and I have successfully made the connection. I can see the first name, last name and email field pre-filling on the forms no problem. However, if used on a Form such as one that stores users communication preferences, I see the checkboxes present on the form are not checked off despite being checked on the lead within the database. Is this something that is possible to pre-fill those checkboxes with SimpleDTO? Or can this only be done by using Marketo's native pre-fill?  I even console logged the values passed through the callback function, and this is what I got:  { "FirstName": "John", "LastName": "Doe", "Email": "jdoe@gmail.com", "Country": "", "State": "", "Phone": "", "Title": "", "Unsubscribed": "", "Score": "", "commentCapture": "", "Industry": "", "Compan

Hi All - I am trying to establish global content download forms hosted on our website however, each download is a different piece of content.  So I thought the next best thing was to build a global TY page however, I am not quite sure how to set it up where each submission goes to the right content.  How is this best achieved?  Please help.  The one workaround I can see is cloning the global form for each asset and the direct after submission goes to the PDF.  Is this the only option?  I would love to know how to build one global form but set up the follow up page based on the asset type.   Any recommendations are welcomed.

How can you tell whether a lead was net new at the time of form submission — that is, in the web browser, not in Marketo itself?   Easy to tell in Marketo: if Person is Created has a non-empty Form Name constraint, they were created by the form. There’s no built-in feature on the browser side, though.   (In case it didn’t immediately hit ya, knowing in the browser allows smarter web routing: net new folks can be taken to a different follow-up page, see personalized first-time content, etc.)   Net New Detection (call it NND) is possible with advanced custom JS, which I’ll provide in an upcoming post. In preparation, you need to create a new field and maintain that field with a tiny bit of JS + ongoing Smart Campaign + one-time backfill.   You may not know exactly why this field is necessary, but you will soon. Might as well get prepped!   Creating the field The field is&nb

Hi, I have 161 soft bounces of which 119 I've identified as falling under category 3, 4 & 9 however, for the remaining 42 how can I find out why they soft bounced? are there other soft bounce categories which I can use?  Link to marketo docs for soft bounce categories: https://nation.marketo.com/t5/knowledgebase/maintaining-a-directory-of-leads-bouncing-emails/ta-p/300838 Thanks!

When someone submits a Marketo form, there’s no built-in way to determine if they’re net new right then, in the browser. This means you lose your chance at directing some leads to a “welcome, new person” site journey and others to a “welcome back” path.   While it’s always been possible to add Net New Detection (NND), the technical recipe hasn’t been written down previously, left in a haze of “I’ll explain it someday” by yours truly.   It has overlaps with my SimpleDTO library used by a lot of folks for cross-domain pre-fill, but doesn’t depend on the SimpleDTO JS and is much simpler overall.   Note that while SimpleDTO works across domains (i.e. with embedded forms), net new detection requires a Marketo LP. In the future, it could be expanded to work cross-domain, but you’ve waited long enough as it is!   Today’s recipe The recipe has 3 not-so-simple ingredients: 1. Adding an Original Form Submission UUID field to the forms you w

Mxtoolbox is able to identify SPF records for two of our subdomains however google is stating the SPF success rate is 0% for these two subdomains. Is there something we need to do on marketo's end for google to find the SPF record for these two subdomains?

We’ve all seen (and hopefully obeyed) this warning in Admin » Tags » Channels:   But do you know why you can’t change the box that says “Opened” to “Clicked” — and vice versa — to swap their steps in the progression?   Because those textboxes modify the dynamic, friendly Program Status Name that’s currently associated with a fixed Program Status ID.   The Status ID is like a database primary key.🞷 Some are pre-created by the system (for builtin channels/statuses). Others are created when you add the new status in Admin. Each ID is tied to a single channel, that is, the status named “Engaged” in the Email channel and the status named “Engaged” in the Webinar channel always have different IDs.🞷🞷   Here are some example Status IDs:   Note how the IDs don’t start with 0 or 1 aren’t contiguous aren’t in the same order as the steps   They should be considered effectively random. We have Bot Activity filter enabled under Email section in Admin. I can see a good number of activities recorded there both for IAB list and Proximity Pattern. They both are in a few thousands. However, when I try to create a smart list with 'Clicked link in email', I cannot see the filter 'Is Bot activity = True/False' filter. I also don't see them on email performance reports in Analytics. Thank you.

Dynamic chat analytics can be used to track and analyse a variety of metrics, including global performance and meeting performance. Global performance metrics provide insights into how your chat is performing overall while meeting performance metrics provide insights into how your chat is being used to book meetings.   Global performance metrics Chat volume: How many chat conversations are you having each day, week, and month? Average chat duration: How long do chat conversations typically last? Chat completion rate: How often do chat conversations end with the customer's query being resolved? Customer satisfaction: How satisfied are customers with your chat experience?     Meeting performance metrics Number of meetings booked: How many meetings are being booked through your chat? Meeting booking rate: What percentage of chat conversations result in a meeting being booked? Average time to book a meeting: How long does it typically t

Hi All, I am planning to create a new field in Marketo that I want to use as a magic link token (which is used in unsubscribe URLs).My idea is to have this field prepopulate based on another field. New field = Token + Parameters (the parameters will only get populated when the token exists). I want the new field to only populate when the token field is not blank. That way I can use one unsubscribe URL for tokenized users and untokenized users. For example: Untokenized URL/New field: If the new field is not populated, users will use the generic unsubscribe URL. If the new field is populated, it will be changed to the tokenized URL. I initially thought of using a formula field, but it seems like Smart Campaign doesn't support it. I want to check if there is a way that I can replicate the same using string fields to replace formula fields.

I downloaded an OFT file from Outlook. While it appears well in Outlook, there are rendering issues in Gmail. Should I rely on fixing the Marketo template, or could it be a different problem? #oft #template

In Hubspot we were able to get a shareable email preview to send out to people who wanted to see what the email looked like. Marketo provides an email preview option, but you have to login in order to see the preview. Is there anyway to get a shareable email preview that I can send out the link for without requiring them to login to Marketo to see the preview? If not, what services do you use to share email previews to project stakeholders?

Recently, I inquired about incorporating numerous (a huge list) of SFDC campaigns into a smart list and got an insightful answer. Now, I am seeking guidance on creating a smart list for members from numerous Marketo programs. Is there a quicker method to achieve this? All the programs share a common keyword (let's call it "ABC"). Can I generate a smart list to retrieve members from all programs containing the keyword ABC? Appreciate your assistance.

Hi everyone, I created email using email editor in marketo. Added dynamic content. Images are not of full width in outlook also some weird image module is added as well. Can someone help me to fix it. No idea what is going on .

Marketo Engage offers seamless integration with CRM and automates lead management. One powerful feature is its ability to sync leads to Salesforce Campaigns. In this blog post, we will explore how Marketo Engage accomplishes this sync, discuss expected behavior, and highlight key best practices.    There are two methods for syncing people between Marketo Programs and Salesforce Campaigns: A) Smart Campaign Flow Steps and B) 1:1 Marketo Program and Salesforce Campaign Sync.    Option A – Smart Campaign Flow Steps  There are three smart campaign flow step options for syncing Marketo Programs with Salesforce Campaigns.  Add to SFDC Campaign: Adds a record to a Salesforce Campaign for the first time.  Change Status in SFDC Campaign: Updates the Member Status of the record in the Salesforce campaign.  Remove from SFDC Campaign: Removes records from Salesforce Campaigns.      Benefits:  Control who syncs to a Campaign from Marke

In early 2022, my company finished its acquisition and, as with many, streamlining and centralizing were key themes for all teams. One of the core focus areas was a relaunch of our Microsoft Dynamics CRM (D365) so that both sides of our company could work in a single tool (the other side of the house used Salesforce). As a result, my team had to relaunch our Marketo instance so that we could integrate with the new CRM (Marketo can only be connected to one CRM ever). This meant the start of a core MarTech project – a project that none of my team had any experience with or had taken part in before, a project that would take almost 18 months to complete, and a project that would provide us with many learning opportunities along the way. Here are my five recommendations for fellow MarTech and Marketo professionals, should you find yourself starting your own migration project. Work With a PartnerWhen our project started, my team had three people, one of whom had just started,

We're capturing customer emails from a marketo form on one of our site page. That email is sent to Marketo/DB. We'd like to ALSO send that email separately to another server from that page directly. Is there a simple way to access that email so that I can reuse it in a different (non-marketo) script on that page. The full context of the problem is as follows: the page contains affiliate converting tracking codes from `Impact.com` and for those pages (that contain the code) we need to pass Impact.com back that email. (so not for all visitors to that page, just those whose page came from our affiliate partners).

Hello Marketo Hivemind! Got a question regarding how the ICS file handles time changes around daylight savings. We have an event happening in April and the invite is scheduled to go out BEFORE the upcoming time change on March 10th.  Because the file is listing the time using EST will will there be any issues on the recipient's calendar?  Or do we need to adjust the times by an hour based on the new time and us moving to EDT for the summer?   To complicate this slightly more this webinar is also being promoted in Europe and they change their times on a different schedule than in the US.  I do realize we are just sending a file with a date/time and the recipients email/calendar client will be processing this but wanted to confirm if anyone has run into issues before with this? Or if we are just good to send out as it is and it will all work itself out?

Hi Team, We have to customize the From field (mandatory/required) to hide/show for a specific group of people. We have done this using Javascript. After hiding this Form field (mandatory/required) we are getting an error like "This field is required."  on the form submission. We have added a code like below:$('#persona').removeAttr ('required'); -> To remove required attribute$('#Lblpersona').remove();  -> To remove label  div$('#persona ').remove();  -> To remove input div Regards,Ragu

Now that program member custom fields (PMCF) are available for our use, I'm curious as to how we can use these in our reporting?  They cannot be used in smart lists - when using smart lists to show a simple grid of member data - since that just uses data from lead records (when we want the data to appear in the grid).  They're not available in RCE - which is a shame, since this is where we do most of our reporting/analysis (especially using the Program Membership Analysis - you would think that these would be contained here by default).

Hey there - I have a support case open, but wanted to see if anyone has experienced this issue and if there's first hand fixing this. We're about to launch Dynamic Chat on our site soon and are using a dialog for booking meetings. No live chat. I tested with my own account at first and all went well. I added two people with product profile calendar agent. The profile has included permissions to connect their calendar and manage their availability hours. They both did this with their Google account. When testing the dialog live, it at least does not show available times where they already have meetings on their calendar. But it does show "available" times outside their personal availability settings. Such as one agent has selected no availability after 3pm ET on Fridays. But it shows that I can book a meeting with them as late as 6:30pm ET. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi Team, We are getting below error while Log In to Marketo."This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies." Is any faced this issues and got solution for it or any workaround to fix it.

Hey y'all I have an issue that I can't seem to resolve. Granted I am a total newbie at Marketo but I have a landing page (that was cloned from an existing page) that looks perfect in editor and even in preview, but once it's approved, it appears broken. Photos below.  How do I troubleshoot this? I can't get to the html in the landing page, I only have the WYSIWYG editor. Please help!
