Dynamic Facebook Custom Audiences

According to Marketo documentationall smart lists that we push over to Facebook become static. And reading an old 2019 post (Updating Facebook Custom Audiences), says that this "dynamic" feature is still not ready yet.

So I was wondering how the community has done to solve this and thus be able to have updated lists, be it for retargeting or whatever the goal is?

Yes - adding people to the FB Audience is dynamic. You can create and maintain a list for people to be removed from an existing audience too, so this in conjunction with the smart/static list to add people to the FB audience, you should have a system to keep the list updated 100% dynamically along with the ability to remove people from the FB audience. You'd want to test this setup before on a few test records to ensure it works as per the expectations before rolling it our for the production records.

You can only dynamically sync Static Lists. What I do is have a Batch Smart Campaign run at a pre-determined interval (weekly for most; nightly for some) that will read the Smart List criteria and add people to the static list so the custom audiences will remain up to date. Caveat here is that you'll also need a batch removal process if you need to keep exactly in sync with your Smart List filters.

Perfect, thanks!

So just to be clear, a Marketo static list will be dynamically synced to FB?

Then the "trick" is only keeping up-to-date that static list, right?
