Block Field Updates

Hello,

Quick question and it might be an easy one.  If i was to set up a field to have all updates blocked does it prevent it from populating the first time as well as all other updates?  Is there a way to populate it the first time and then prevent edits thereafter unless updated in SFDC?

HI Carrie,

It only block the updates, not the first entry. Therefore, it will prevent value A to be replaced by value B, but not the null value to be replaced by value A.

If you want to prevent updates from SFDC, just block field updates source SFDC.

"Updates" in Marketo-speak do not include the first setting from empty to filled.

Blocking updates from sources other than SFDC sync is done in Field Management.

I was saying you can "block updates from sources other than SFDC"... as Carrie requested "unless updated in SFDC."
