Will marketo send to duplicate email addresses?

Our database currently has many leads who are also contacts. I need to send out an email to leads and contacts and therefore there are many duplicates on the list. Will Marketo automatically send each duplicate only one email?

Marketo will send the message to one email address only when duplicate exists.
It normally selects the one having the most recent update date.

    The same principle applies to form fill outs: you have a duplicate lead in your database and that lead fills out a form on your website. Marketo always updates the lead record that was most recently updated.
