Will an "Update field" trigger activate when any other field apart from the field which we set in trigger attribute is updated?

When we add a trigger "Opportunity is updated" having trigger attribute Type is 'Prospect', how does it works?

Case 1: Will it fire the campaign whenever the trigger attribute is updated to 'Prospect'.
Case 2: If the Type is 'Prospect' already and any other opportunity field is updated will the trigger qualify those records again?

Here I want to qualify records whose opportunity is updated to Type is 'Prospect' only and don't want the records having other opportunity fields updated.
